A Fantastic hotel in every way!

Pros: Lovely rooms, Excellent staff, great location
Cons: room temp
Location: lots of shopping, restaurants and sights nearby
My husband is very picky about hotels and service, so this was a pleasant surprise for our family, as we didn't really know where to stay in Paris. This was a beautiful hotel, the staff was top notch, the food excellent and the location is great for walking to sights (i.e., Eiffel Tower) and lots of shopping and bistros just outside the doors. Rooms are very soundproof as well. The ONLY negative was not being able to get the room cool enough (and the hotel meals were quite expensive, but that's Paris). Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay there and will surely go back if we are fortunate enough to visit Paris again.

I .loved the Intercontinental Legrand..hotel in Pa

I purchased my package about two months ago and it was the best deal ever..since we had three of us in a room, they gave us a mini suite which consisted of two bedrooms and one bathroom and a powder room....we had balconies from various rooms...there were plush bathrobes and slippers...room was always filled with plenty of bath towels...and they also did the turn down service...since we were celebrating a special, they had champaigne and cookies in the room upon arrival.

Overall experience of the stay was excellent, close to Metro, many sights are within walking distance, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful

Pros: close to metro
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy
The hotel was right next to the Opera and the Metro station, and only one block away from the Lafayette and Printemps, we even walked to the Louvre which was about one mile. Room was spacious with high ceiling, but the bed was actually two twin-bed put together. Internet access was extremely expensive, 8 euros for one hour or 24 euros for 24 hours, and only wired connection in the room, wireless is only available in the lobby. The Cafe de la Paix in the hotel serves very good food, but very pricey. The other restaurant cross the street, the Chez Clement, was much more reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Though when we checked in, the front desk girl somehow didn't see our reservation was prepaid, and put a $5K hold on our credit card, which was supposed only for incidentals. She later realized her mistake and tried to fix it, but the credit hold was still there when we checked out a week later, and had to ask the front desk to remove it. One thing about the noise: metro lines run underneath the hotel, every now and then there are rumbles of trains passing by, and can be heard in the room. It didn't bother us much after walking around all day long. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful hotel

We had an easy check-in. Everyone was very nice and spoke perfect English, which was very convenient since our use of the French language was limited at best. The hotel is beautiful and large. They upgraded our room to an Opera view. Our room was always cleaned (even when we asked not to be disturbed). I think the hotel and service definitely upheld the standards of other Intercontinental hotels.

Once in a life time...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in Aug. The staff were professional and courteous and very organized. There were plenty of staff members to help with whatever we requested whether it was regarding the hotel or the city. The rooms were very well attended. Supplies were replenished at our convenience and we were never disrupted. The hotel was quiet and safe. We would highly recommend this hotel to stay while in Paris.

excellent experience

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Intercontinental Le Grand on Nov 1-5, 2007. The location of teh hotel was great as you can walk to just about everything and if you prefer you can take the metro which is not even a block away. The standard room was nicely appointed with a nice bathroom. Everything about the hotel was classy from the front desk ot the concierge. Infact the concierge alone was probably worth the price of the room. We spoke no french and got along just fine. Wonderful restaurants in walking distance. we didn't dine at the hotel because it was very expensive. Can't say nice enough things about this place. I would definitely stay here again.
