I stayed here for one night with my dog after the highway was closed overnight at Rogers Pass on sept. 29th. Last minute booking and arrived after 8pm. Staff was super friendly!
Room was clean, spacious, linens and towels were were clean and the bed was comfortable. Hot breakfast was good, loved the waffles. Resort grounds are beautiful. Pet friendly too.
Cons:
It is a winter resort so if you're here in the off season, there is no restaurant and you need to drive the 12 minutes into Revelstoke to get food.
Lobby closes early so no elevator up to the rooms and you need to use outside stairs which could be an issue for those with mobility issues or with a lot of stuff.
Hot breakfast in the off season doesn't include eggs or meat (cold hard boiled eggs and cold ham slices/cheese are provided)
Had an issue with some kind of tiny fly in the bathroom. Not just a few but dozens; seem to increase with shower use. I was refunded my pet deposit ($30) for this inconvenience but would've liked to see a bit more refunded given the room was $265 per night in the off season.
Room was a bit chilly and no ability to turn up heat or use the fireplace.
Freezer wasn't working great and the more frozen food that I had, defrosted quite a bit.
Extremely loud between rooms. I could hear the tv and conversations clear as day from the room nextdoor.
I didn't use the pool or hot tub because they were closed at 9pm
Overall an okay stay but I wouldn't recommend in the off season
This is a beautiful looking beautiful looking building and space. The inside is a little outdated but still looked really nice. Rooms were also a little outdated but, they were clean and comfortable. We did find a beetle or two in our room, which we read from other reviews, but you are out in the middle of the wilderness, I wasn't shocked by the bugs. The hotel was also easy to find since it is a little out of town. Morning breakfast was small but plenty enough for us.
The staff are friendy. The outide of the facility isnt being kept up, and is showing its age. The onsite restaurant is only open when there are a large number of guests. The location is quite a distance from any restaurants, requiring a 15 minute drive. The hot tub was down for maintenance. It was also down for maintenence when I stayed there in the spring. The breakfast was continental only. The juice machine was out of order.
