It is a simple room. Good value. The staff are very friendly. Convenient to the hospital which was the reason for our stay. Close to restaurants, shops, and downtown. Booked again for the following week.

The elevator wasn’t working and I had to work up a very creepy staircase by myself. The front desk staff informed me they are open 24 hours a day and to knock on the door in the morning to return my key. I had informed her that I had an early flight and would be leaving at 5am. Nobody answered the knock. Hotel chosen for proximity to Billy Bishop Airport and for price. NOT SAFE AREA, never again

We are sorry you were unhappy with your stay. We are trying very hard to fix the elevator. Perhaps the front desk attendant was checking the building or in the washroom when you knocked on the door, but we are open 24 hours.

Property is dated. Room was acceptable but nothing special. It was okay for one night, but I wouldn't choose it for a multiple-day stay.

The neighbourhood seems a bit shady, but nothing compared to any average metro area. 300m from Queens street, 2km from downtown. Great location and out of the way.

not recommended

This hotel is off the beaten path and is located on a street with several homeless shelters. The neighborhood does not feel safe. The rooms are run down. It seems to be the type of hotel that people are living at. When my cab driver pulled up to drop me off he said, ""Please don't stay here."" The staff were rude and unfriendly.

Minimal, fine

the Alexandra has been converted from apartments, so a kitchenette sticks out in the rooms, but that could be nice if you're staying longer. The place is a little minimal and scruffy, kind of light on the amenities, but for a minimal/cheap place to crash as you explore Toronto, it's great. If you're into young, hip neighborhoods, this hotel is great: Queen St. just down the road is great fun.
