Bed was wonderful, we thought pillows would be bad but they were just fine. Room was very clean. Huge tv in room. I liked not having carpet, it’s cleaner. Only complaint was the coffee we had to make in room was awful and they don’t have a pot of coffee in office you can get any good coffee at. We had deer in parking lot when we drove in at night so we had fun seeing those. We would for sure go back and stay.

Very good service. The new owners have made updates. But still need to make a few more. Overall the place was a good stay for us and I would recommend the motel and would stay there again.

Customer service is nonexistent. We were arriving later than we were expecting originally so I called to verify my room was still going to be available. Called four times over an hour and no answer. I finally got someone to answer on the fifth call. When I got there, the lady was just rude. As if I need to check in was an inconvenience to her. We arrived at 7:30 PM so it shouldn’t have been an inconvenience. Additionally, there was mold on the wall above the shower, water damage to the walls and broken handrail in the bathtub with a sharp edge. Messy putty job to fill the hole where the pole came out. The next morning when I went to check out, the office is locked still at 8:30 in the morning. Try to reach the front desk by phone and they don’t answer so when I had to ring the bell several times she told me I needed to be patient. Patient was long gone waiting for their service.

River oaks hotel bandera.

You can tell this is an older hotel but my room was clean and well maintained. My room didn't smell like smoke so that was great.

Nice town to stay in

It was OK, bed was nice, huge TV, good hot water pressure, clean, easy check in/out. Lovely receptionist...there were some repairs less than stellar however. There was toilet paper filling a hole in the baseboard in the RR, as well as the chewed up doorstop in the RR and there was pealing paint on the RR door.

We arrived late in the evening (around 11 pm) to check-in. You cannot go inside. They have the door locked and you have to use a "night-window". No one was coming to the window, despite my husband pushing the doorbell button. I finally had to call the number on my Expedia reservation for someone to come to the front. The hotel is a little rundown. You can tell they tried to update some things, but the work is sloppy (i.e., there was a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom area of our room). I will say, it seems like they upgraded the beds, which was a huge plus. The beds and the pillows were excellent, and there were 3 beds in our room, which was very accommodating for our family of 4 + 2 dogs. The beds make up for anything else that I may not have liked, given that we only needed to be there to sleep for 1 night. Checkout was easy, and they allow pets, which was a huge plus for us.

Great stay

Hotel was very clean, the staff was super friendly. The bed was so comfortable. Usually when you stay at a hotel the beds are so hard and uncomfortable but not here, they were amazing.

Don’t waste your money!!

The shower knob was literally falling out of the wall. The towels were the size of hand towels, poor quality, smelled bad and were old. The room had a horrible odor we had to buy freshener it smelled so bad. We had to wait 15 min to check in.
