The Big Dipper house was extremely clean, has everything you need, is a newly built home, true to what is pictured, and a great option for multiple families sharing the home, closer to the attractions that what we expected too. Lynn was very timely with communications, worked hard to meet our needs, very informative, and well organized! The roof top is a great feature (even tho the actual lake view is minimal with tree growth). Our only negative point is that the shoreline is Not cleared out for easy fishing from shore. The resort area is kept very clean overall. Our stay was for 6 nights the last week of August 2025 & we would not hesitate to return!
What we loved:1) Large bedrooms with private bath and TVs. We had a varied group of adults with separate activities planned, so it was nice to be able to escape into those private spaces.2) Well equipped kitchen to create fabulous meals and a large dining table to accommodate all of us to have enjoy meals together.3) Ample parking for cars and BOATS. We brought two (2) boats and the appreciated the nearby easy access launch ramp/marina. 4) Community outdoor pool. Plenty of space, tables, lounge chairs, shade and awesome view of the lake5) Grill and Hot tub - Both were clean and easy to use.Suggestions for an even better experience:1) Kitchen could use the addition of a colander and a cutting board.2) Shade on the rooftop deck. It was unusable during the daylight hours.
The property was clean and very well taken care of. The only thing I would suggest is to have some umbrellas available for outdoor seating . Several days of rain and w open roof top and no deck on back porch area it made enjoying the atmosphere and outdoor seating in unusable during the rainy days .
Host was extremely responsive and we enjoyed our stay .
This house was a great fit for our family of 13. The games were a hit with all the kids. One suggestion is to have a tall kitchen trash can in the upstairs refrigerator/counter area. We enjoyed spending the time together under one roof.
Everything was great. There is a path down to the lake behind the house. The house was clean. But with any rental it has that lived in look. Little things. I did reach out about an issue with the stairs and never got a reply. But everyone that stayed with me had fun.
Pros:
The layout and space was good for our group of 11. Perfectly represented in the listing.
Host communication was quick.
The house was very clean.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans.
Kids loved the games.
Cons:
The towels were old and stained.
Coffee pot and toaster didnât function.
A couple of the shower curtains were too short so the floors would be soaked after showering.
No dishwasher detergent. Only minimal paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags are provided. (Which is annoying when your entire group is flying in from a long distance and you have to go buy boxes of supplies that you canât bring home with you)
The outdoor space is 100% large rocks and pretty small. No grassy space or room for kids to play.
We had a great weekend with only a few minor hiccups. Most were taken care of promptly. It would have been nice to have had kitchen towels but we worked around that. The major complaint from our group had to do with one of the video games. There wasn't any way to turn the sound off of the guns.
