Most likely will not stay at this hotel at our next visit to island. Staff was super amazing and we were greeted mimosas upon check-in. However, there were certain items about the hotel we could not overlook. Hotel advertises sky bar and tiki bar but we could not find staff working these area despite hours of availability. Hotel only had 1 main food area and the snack bar was only available for limited hours. Waitstaff constantly got our food orders wrong. Beach view was not appealing. It rained during our stay and found the hotel had several leak issues which caused the elevator to not work. Overall, not impressed with the hotel and will consider other hotels in the area.

The property itself is beautiful. The room was lovely with nice features. However, there was no mention of how far it was from the ferry. We got to the island around 9:30om. We didn’t know how far the resort was. We saw no taxis but didn’t know we even needed one. We asked a local how far it was and he said a 13 minute walk. We set out at night trailing our luggage in fairly deserted bumpy streets and poor sidewalks. We finally hailed a taxi and it took quite a while to reach the resort. Not a good start. The food at the only restaurant was hit and miss. The waffles and pancakes were cold. The self-serve bacon was stuck together resembling a small football. Unable to order fried eggs although it was unclear if it was a language issue or the absence of real eggs. Staff was very friendly throughout the resort. Upon your arrival, be ready for the twenty minute review of the many rules in place, including an inspection done prior to checkout.

I loved just about everything about Hotel Belo. It's an intimate setting, a smaller boutique hotel with class. Not a party spot, thank goodness. Every morning I woke up to a beautiful, peaceful room, walked out to the pool, and looked out on to the sea. All of the staff was very friendly. The food was excellent. The location is a bit off the beaten path, which only adds to the charm. Don't listen to the few complainers. Be respectful of the property and the staff and you can't go wrong with this place! Truly a wonderful experience!

We got a room upgraded! The view was amazing! The staff was friendly. It was calm, it felt like a getaway. The hot tubs didn’t work, my only complaint. It was almost perfect! The food was good.

Gorgeous view, pools were great, but the construction tape, sand bags and slow service were very detracting from the experience. Food was good, but the drinks took forever. They were delicious, but took forever. The music speakers were broken upstairs, construction zones took away from the aesthetic. I appreciated the cab services and bikes and golf carts. The housekeeping was appreciated.

We liked some things about this property, and stayed 10 days. The food was pretty good, although we noticed there is not much Mexican cuisine offered, but that is true throughout Isla. For the first few days, the hotel was maybe half full, but still the service was subpar,(altho there were a couple staff who are great) but not enough staff. We learned that students are working co-op in the hotel with little to no English skills. It's difficult to communicate with staff unless you are fluent in Spanish. The bar/restaurant onsite ran out of wine (yes, all wine) on several days, also beer on a couple occasions. The food menu at the lunch/snack bar was good, but they ran out of some things here also. Room service was a fiasco. The Top (rooftop pool/bar) was deserted most of the time, often no bartender! The TOP pool area looked neglected, hot tub leaking, cups and beer bottles around, etc, The main pool was clean and beautiful but cold! The "hot tubs" were not running most of the time, and when any of them were running, they were lukewarm. This was a feature of the hotel we were looking forward to, so it was a letdown. The music was good here and there, but often it was techno "music" blasted too loud around the pool, in competition with music coming from Playa Tiburon next door. For an all inclusive, we didn't feel we got a good deal. The staff was often confused as to what liquor was/wasn't included in the ALL INCLUSIVE.
