Located just steps from iconic King Street! Named one of the best shopping streets in the country by U.S. News and World Report. While plenty of chains live on King, there is also a solid share of locally owned establishments that will make it easy to stick to your Buy Local goals. Upper King is arguably the hottest district in town with high-end restaurants, bustling bars, and tons of unique shops and boutiques. If you want Gucci - LuLu Lemon or Pottery Barn, that's also steps away on King Street. Just across the street is one of the best downtown Wine Bars. One of MANY quaint establishments steps away from you.



Getting Around:

You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Charleston bike taxi & Charleston Rickshaw, green taxi or yellow cab.

Location is great, in the heart of everything with walking ability. I gave it 5 stars as it is everything that it should be - it is a historic home. So with that, you can expect some quirky things but the house has been nicely updated and was clean. One thing to note is there are quite a few stairs. The staircase going up is very skinny and steep which makes it hard to get 50pd suit cases up. Two of the bedrooms require additional stairs and there is not a bathroom on that level. Checking in and out was easy, the host checked in a couple times but we had no issues or needs that were not met.

This location is amazing, right in the heart of downtown. They let us check in early, and hold our luggage in the unit while they finished preparing it. It was clean and in working order. We did have to kill a very large cockroach, which was disappointing since we didn't bring in a single open food item and had no food garbage. There are no cockroach traps that I could see. We also couldn't find the included drip coffee, but the coffee nearby was good.

The location was great, a half block off King Street. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Close to the College of Charleston. The unit itself was nicely laid out for the 3 of us. It has 2 main level bedrooms and bathrooms (plus 2 in the ‘attic’ which we did not use. It is nicely updated for a historic home. As noted in the write up - the entrance to the unit is up flight and half of stairs and there is a lot of street noise/light. Neither bothered us. The driveway is tight - would not recommend trying in a full size SUV but our midsize SUV fit fine with care.

If you want to experience a truly old Charleston vacation with plenty of space and modern amenities, this place is for you! The location is terrific, an easy and safe walking distance to everywhere one would want to go: restaurants, activities, and shopping. There is plenty of parking in the back
 a bit of a tight squeeze thru the alley but no issues once in the back. We stayed on the 3rd floor of this historic house. I must warn those with mobility issues that the stairs to reach this level are uneven and a bit scary. Rails do help! Once up the stairs, the porch is wonderful with rocking chairs and a table. Inside, the area is spacious
essentially two units in one. There is plenty of space for everyone to stretch out. The kitchen has everything one needs to heat up leftovers
 I hope no one actually cooks in Charleston in this prime location! If one wishes to do so, the kitchen has everything. The rooms are spacious as is the family area. The rooms in the attic area are detached from their downstairs bathroom. No one in my group complained about this. The attic rooms were spacious and charming as were the other rooms more conveniently located to the other two bathrooms. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking privacy for their families or friends, a fantastic location, and a unique experience in an historic Charleston home with modern amenities!

Fabulous location, walkable to everything. The front porch was wonderful, we hung out here every night. Beds were comfortable. If you have someone in your group with mobility issues this might be a challenge as it’s a full flight up steps to the front door, and two of the bedrooms are another flight up (with the bathroom they share on the main level). Relatively quiet neighborhood for being so centrally located. If you need to sleep in a dark bedroom, choose the one near the kitchen or the ones upstairs. The front bedroom facing Society has a street light right outside the window, it was quite bright at night even with the shades down. Overall we loved the place and would stay here again, just sharing these things for your information.

Great location! Property very clean and nicely decorated. Going up 3-4 levels with luggage was tough and the bathroom being downstairs to serve as the bathroom for the two top bedrooms was a bit inconvenient. Host was very responsive. Overall it was a great stay!

Some suggestions - Property missing a few details in terms of kitchen - no ice machine/ no ice trays! Lighting is not the best . Need more towel racks in the bathrooms. Overall good

We did have an issue with ants in one of the bedrooms upstairs. It was handled right away. The only suggestion I have is to put a window cover on the kitchen windows to help block the heat of the sun coming through. Other than that, location was great! We enjoyed staying there with our grandchildren!

The location is excellent, cannot be beat, and that alone deserves 5 stars. It is a classic Charleston home with all the charm. Bathrooms and kitchen are all updated, which is nice. Also surprising, was how comfortable the beds were. Having private, tucked away parking, that was also priceless. Would we stay here again and recommend this place? Sure!

this place was perfect. I’ll start with the location because we wanted to see Charleston, rainbow row. Kings Street, South of Broad, etc. It was within walking distance of everything. the unit was very clean, bathrooms were fantastic, plenty of space, clean linens and towels. It was me and my daughters, 22, 20 and 16 and it was a very memorable trip. A nice wine bar right across the street was just an added treat.

Very comfortable and convenient

We had a lovely time walking around Charleston and did our best to boost the King Street economy. The location was excellent. We must have overlooked the fact that this was a second floor unit which would normally be not a problem for our able bodied family. The only access, however, is an outdoor staircase that is very narrow in places and extremely dark at night. Toting luggage up the stairs was difficult and would be impossible for someone used to simply rolling their luggage from an elevator. We stayed in the large master with the comfortable king sized bed on the street end of the house. Right outside the bedroom windows is an extremely bright LED streetlight which the Roman shade window treatments did little to dampen. Patrons at the restaurant across the street stayed late plus the 3:30 am street sweeper and dumpster trucks roaring and banging outside makes for a less than restful sleeping environment.
