The continental breakfast was not like I’ve had before at other hotels. It was lacking hot food except for the waffle maker. Needs to have more options.

Property was not as well maintained as it was before the sell of the location to its current owner(s). Even though the hotel is historical in nature the rooms have not been updated in years, the flooring is in need of attention, the furniture in the rooms are in need of replacement, etc.

There was only one person in cleaning staff. Rooms weren’t ready. Some people drove back home after wedding as their room was never made available. Spent around $225 for the room. They could have hired a cleaning service to come in for the day as the hotel was booked. Instead they just lead people on that their room would be ready and it never was.

Very loud hammering, due to construction on the building. starting at 7:30 am. Trains passing by kept us up. Bedding smelt like body odor and needed to be replaced. Bkfst not good. scrambled eggs cooked in crock pot and appeared black n color. Front desk attendant nice.

Beautiful historic building, and front desk was friendly ... BUT this hotel has gone downhill since we last stayed here two years ago. The entry door by handicap access was broken (and from the age of the "out of order" sign, had been for ages), so had to walk around to main entry. The "breakfast" here used to be amazing, but now it's barely like a low-budget hotel. If they want to be a luxury hotel, then little things like this are vital. I'll just stay at the Holiday Inn Express next time.

This is a step up from any other hotel experience at this price. The hotel is old in a good way - high ceilings, solid wood and marble features, and lots of small details that make it feel elevated. There are some superficial textile updates needed, but the overall vibe is fantastic. Our only real problem was that the AC throughout the hotel did not work the first night of our stay, so we were quite hot and had trouble sleeping (windows are bolted shut for safety). AC was repaired while we were there, and our second night was much more comfortable! Would definitely recommend this for a cozy getaway.
