Modern Farmhouse Cottage on 250 Acre Farm Near Ark: No Cleaning Fee!

Swiss Hills Cottage sits nestled behind a cow pasture on our 250 acre farm in Dry Ridge, KY. Relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets, rolling Kentucky hills, and peaceful pastures from the rocking chairs on our front porch OR from our beautiful fire pit. The interior is a thoughtfully designed modern-farmhouse-lover’s dream! Conveniently located in Dry Ridge north of Williamstown, just 10 min off I-75 and 18 min from the Ark Encounter.

Our private fire pit is cozy year round! It features seating for four (a porch swing and 2 Adirondack chairs) and a Solo Stove fire pit. Wood and fire starting supplies are provided. (Please note, the fire pit won't be available for bonfires if a "burn ban" is ever placed on our area. Rare, but it does happen.)

Children are welcome; however, please be aware the stairs to the loft are very steep.

This crisp, clean, modern-farmhouse cottage features shiplap walls and a 16' cathedral ceiling that makes the house feel larger than its 384 sq ft main floor plus 120 sq ft loft.

The house is strategically located so you can enjoy the best sunset view on the farm!

Main floor bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress and cozy bedding.

There is also a full-sized sleeper sofa in the main living area.

The loft has another couch that folds down into a bed (futon).

***We have provided a twin-size 2" memory foam mattress topper to make the loft futon more comfortable for sleeping.***

Extra bedding, pillows, towels, hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hair dryer are provided.

Things to do in Northern Kentucky: Country Pumpkins Fall Festival. The Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Kentucky Horse Park, Turfway Park (horse racing), horse farm tours, Big Bone Lick State Park, Williamstown Lake, Boltz Lake, shopping, and dining. We are just 45 minutes from Cincinnati, OH where you can enjoy Reds games, Bengals games, Cincinnati Cyclones Hockey, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Newport Aquarium, Riverbend Music Center, Cincinnati Museum Center, shopping, and dining experiences.

Everything was great. The only complaint we have is the sleeping amenities. The pull out bed from the couch was not comfortable at all. You could feel the bar under the mattress even with a mattress topper. The main bed is very, very firm. Other than that it was awesome and would recommend anyone to stay.

My boyfriend and I was impressed by how lovely everything turned out to be. Our favorite part was the quiet at night, as it has been our most relaxed stay yet. This cozy cottage was great for our family. We were in the area visiting the Ark Encounter and this “tiny home” was packed full of everything we needed to have a lovely stay. I highly recommend this cottage over any hotel for a family with small children!

Absolutely loved it! Great get-away, farm charm! Host thought of everything for a most comfortable stay. The moment we pulled up we were surprised at how beautiful the property and setting was. It is so quiet and serene. The cottage was so clean and had everything we needed. Some added perks were the popcorn and ice cream for us to enjoy. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice and warm. We were able to enjoy the fire pit and swing, watching the beautiful sunset. We had an amazing experience staying at the Swiss Hills Cottage with my wife and two boys. Shelley and her family provided everything we needed and went above and beyond to make us feel like we were at home. The cottage is in an excellent location and so close to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Plus, it’s on their beautiful farm which they take care of very well. Also, don’t forget to try some of Oakley’s famous cinnamon rolls! Hand delivered to your front door too. We’ll recommend this cottage to everyone and look forward to going back again.

This rental is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful stay. The porch overlooks hills, there is a great view of the sunset, and cows are mooing in the background. Awesome!!!

We stayed 4th of July weekend. We had a very peaceful and private stay. The country scenery was picturesque. The house had just enough room and was perfect for a older couple. We spent a lot of time on the porch just enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. We also got the benefit of watching fire works beyond the tree ridge. We spent the last night at a dinner cruise on the Ohio River cruising Cincinnati on one side and Kentucky on the other. The cinammon roles were delivered to our door from Shelleys 9 yr old son Oakley which were so good! A perfect 4th of July getaway.
