I wanted to change my travel plans due to circumstances beyond my control and asked the hotel if they would consider allowing me to check out a day early with a refund for the last night. I understand the booking was non-refundable, but I also know that many hotels use their discretion in these situations and are willing to be flexible. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I spoke to several staff members, but none were willing to accommodate or even show much understanding. The response felt rigid and unhelpful, which was disappointing. In addition, the beds were extremely stiff and uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep and negatively impacted my stay overall. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, a little empathy and flexibility would have gone a long way. Ultimately I stayed that one last night.

We had a fabulous stay. The Horizon lounge was excellent, drinks, food & service all wonderful. Rooms & bathrooms are showing their age a little but well maintained. Surprised that the coffee in the room was instant but it was little effort to pop to the lounge for a decent cup.

My experience at Shangri-La Dubai was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, and every detail is carefully maintained. The front desk receptionist, Kunga, was incredibly kind and attentive, making check-in smooth and even arranging a beautiful room decoration that made me feel so special for my birthday. The duty manager, Archel, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect, his professionalism and warmth really stood out. The hotel also surprised me with a complimentary breakfast and even offered me a late checkout, which made my trip so much more relaxing. The spa experience was one of the best I’ve ever had, peaceful, luxurious, and rejuvenating. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of variety and freshness. Every meal felt like a treat. Overall, Shangri-La Dubai exceeded every expectation. It’s not just the stunning property, but the people who work there that make the stay truly unforgettable. Thank you, Kunga and Archel, for your outstanding service. I will definitely be coming back!
