Top Floor Beachfront Condo ~Sand Castle in the Sky

One of Folly's Best! Sand Castle in the Sky is located on the top floor of a raised building. This 3 bedroom 3 bath condo is the perfect retreat without any noisy neighbors above you! The views from this 3rd-floor condo's open balcony are awe-inspiring from sunrise through the starry night sky. From watching waves throughout the day to the beautiful lights on the pier at night, it's a memorable vacation spot! The primary suite has a king-size bed and the other two bedrooms have queens. Sit on the balcony in the morning and enjoy the warm sun while watching the dolphins play and enjoying your morning coffee. You can park up to two cars in the off-street private parking lot the entire time you are here as everything is within easy walking distance. The property is clean and comfortable with inviting decor and TV's in every bedroom. It is one of the nicest condos on the beach! Beach lovers can enjoy the ocean from the balcony or by walking directly onto the beach. During the summer enjoy the water at one of the only sections of the beach with a lifeguard. Those who like to fish can walk less than one block down to the Folly Beach Fishing Pier to join other anglers. Great restaurants, fresh seafood vendors, and a grocery store are all nearby. This condo is a great base to explore the beach and then the Historic City of Charleston. Sand Castle in the Sky allows up to 2 well-behaved, house-broken, flea-treated dogs with approval. Please include the breed and size of your dogs when you inquire. While we manage this property we do not manage the maintenance of this building. I called and emailed numerous times about the elevator issue and was told over and over that they will get back to me but they never did. It made for a very uncomfortable trip for our friends. My husband and I are in our mid-60s and it was not easy for us either, but we were healthy enough to make it up and down four flights. Our friends were not able to do that. We ended up picking up meals for them and bringing them back to the condo.

It's right on the beach, short walk to the pier and many restaurants and it's very spacious, too. Very easy check in and they gave plenty of notice on the door codes. The balcony is large and private with plenty of seating...and that view! The living room sofas and furniture were very comfortable, which seems hard to find lately in VRBO rentals. Everything was very clean and beds are very comfortable. Loved the whirlpool tub, too.

The unit exceeded our expectations and I can’t recommend it enough! If you go to Folly and want an amazing place to stay with postcard views every time you look out the window, this is the place! An easy walk to the beach, Bert’s and Center Street. Just perfect!

Great place with a great view. No Frills to make a reasonable cost for a great experience. Only downside was the consumables. They gave about exactly as much as needed, but we were worried we may need more of some stuff (dish soap, to, towels, etc). Again we did not run out of anything except shampoo/body wash (expected and communicated by the host management company that it would not make for a week long stay) and laundry/dish detergents (see both sides of the coin), so there's nothing unexpected here. I would definitely stay again.

The location was excellent and the condo overall was well appointed and decent amount of space. Nice that there were games to play and TVs in every room. The beds were a bit hard and water pressure is light. Otherwise it was really a great little condo. Super convenient to restaurants and Bert’s market plus great view from the balcony.

Perfect Location

Excellent location, walkable to all that Folly has to offer. Property had all amenities. TV Remote was not working but manager came out within 10 minutes to replace. Elevator was not working for our stay which meant a lot of steps for our 3rd floor location. Parking was easy, check in was seamless. Great property. Would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our time at Sand Castle in the Sky. Our condo was as described and as pictured. Very clean and had a nice view from the third floor. Beds were comfortable and everything was in working order. We would have given it 5 stars only the elevator was out of order during our stay. Carrying luggage up the stairs to the third floor was not so much fun.

Loved this place!

This condo was perfect for our weekend visit to Folly Beach. Great location. Right on the beach and walking to distance to restaurants and shopping. The place was clean. We had a few issues with the WiFi but the management was so quick and helpful to get it resolved for us. Would definitely stay there again!

PERFECT!!

We booked for our family vacation and it did not disappoint. Very clean for a dog friendly place. The communication was excellent and the location was great!! We walked everywhere and waking up with the sunrise on the beach was beautiful! The fact everyone had their own bathroom was fantastic. Definitely will look to book again here in the future!

Great Property!

Awesome location that is within walking distance to the important stuff! The unit itself was very clean, nice layout, with incredible views. Easy access to the beach. The balcony is an excellent spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Elevator was broken and it was HOT the week I stayed, but still very much worth it. I enjoyed it tremendously and will be looking to return next year.

Issues with air conditioner and elevator

The view from the balcony is incredible. We received a call before check in that the dishwasher was leaking and the part had been ordered. I was told I could still use it but to place towels around floor. I chose not to use. We arrived to the elevator being out of order. This may be an issue for an older couple. I think I counted about 50 steps up. The unit stayed between 74 and 78. I reported to Maintenace etc. All of this as aside I would honestly stay again if the elevator worked and the A/C could keep up.

Elevator not working and found out from another unit owner it’s been out of order for months! Unless you are on the first floor and you are in excellent health do not take a room on the third floor 52 steps! Two times the air conditioner stopped working and had to have a repair man.

Location, location, location!

Location is an important factor for us when choosing a place to stay. Sand Castle in the Sky did not disappoint! It's walkable to many restaurants and shops. The ocean view from this 3rd floor condo is perfect. Even when it was a bit too chilly to be on the beach in early March lounging on the deck made up for it. Responsive property manager when questions arose. Clean and comfortable accommodations. We will definitely choose to stay at Sand Castle in the Sky in the future.
