The bedroom upstairs near the bathroom over the garage is quite hot. We had a fan right at the window and that did not help much despite it being cool outside. Also the bed seems to droop down in the middle.

A truly beautiful home with lots of room for everyone to have their own private space. Two nice living areas to watch a movie downstairs and the kids can be upstairs watching a movie or playing games. Cozy and comfortable. The rooms are all nice sized and the two bathrooms have double sinks. Close enough yet far enough away from Grand Lake. Quiet location.

Spacious lodge for family vacation

Parents with three adult sons spent summer vacation in this spacious, well designed lodge vacation home. Easy check-in and departure. Great location, close to outdoor activities and town. Some beds comfortable, others very noisy. Oven was dirty/ missed by cleaners. Rest of house, clean and well organized.Unfortunate that there are powerlines disrupting an incredible view. Generous linens and well stocked kitchen. Overall, had a wonderful time at this property

The house was nice and relatively clean. I docked 2 stars because the house does not have air conditioning, and that was not made clear in the listing. I would not have paid as much as I did if I had known it didn’t have air (we stayed in July!). Also, the fire pit didn’t work which really disappointed my kids. Owner was responsive. Location was good.

Beautiful Mountain Home with wonderful views

Our group of 9 enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home, with its great views of Grand Lake and Shadow Mtn Lake, well equipped kitchen, roomy living rooms (up and downstairs), and nice deck with propane fire pit. We loved the large dining room table (for up to 10) for meals, conversation, and board games. Doug did a wonderful job communicating with us and helping us with some minor issues and questions we had. He was a great host! One suggestion for improvement: we were there during a warm period (for Grand Lake) and the upper floor did get fairly warm during the day and was hard to cool off at night even with the 2 box fans. Some additional type of venting/cooling/ceiling fans, etc. would have made the upstairs more comfortable. But we loved this nice home. Thank you Doug!

Great Stay in Grand Lake

Doug and his family's cabin is very cozy, tucked up in the mountains with a stunning view of Grand Lake! The kitchen was well appointed, with all of the cooking and food prep items you'd need for a large group. The deck has tons of seating and the home feels incredibly spacious and airy. Would be a great stay year round, but we loved being close to town and the lake during our stay!

3 day family getaway

Beautiful house with a great location and incredible views. The space was perfect for 6 adults and 3 kids. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck with its amazing views and gas fire pit. Super close to town, rmnp and golf course. We had a great time here but would like you to consider a contactless checkin and additional amenties such as showering products and tissues. We were give 2 sets af mini shower products for our entire group and zero kleenex. We also think that with the cleaning fee trash could be picked up by cleaners.

Frustrations with Heat, Driveway Conditions and Trash Removal

Upon our arrival to the Lakeview Lodge, we noticed that the upstairs, where most bedrooms are located, had absolutely no heat. We called the emergency number immediately and the heating and air technician arrived over an hour later. He could not identify the problem initially, so he called the property management company to confirm if the house was equipped with two furnaces and to gain access to the back shed. They were unable to assist with either, leaving the technician to drill into the door to discover the second furnace which hadn’t been serviced in years. It wasn’t until after midnight when he was finally able to remedy the problem. As a property management company, the technicians should be set up for success to be able to fix the heat quickly and efficiently and there should be a policy that requires homeowners to complete regular maintenance so that renters who are paying good money do not have their vacation disrupted by something that is easily preventable. Or in the very least, offer some sort of compensation for the inconvenience. The driveway conditions were treacherous. Even though we had 4WD, which the listing states is a requirement due to the residential areas not being maintained, we experienced issues with getting out on multiple occasions. Despite using fallen branches and rubber mats for traction, as well as our own ice melt, it was nearly impossible to navigate. We were only provided with two shovels, both of which were broken and no access to the garage. Additionally, the listing does not state that they will only plow unless there is an additional 4-6 inches of snow, which was very inconvenient. Since this property lists the poor road conditions, they should provide sturdy shovels, ice melt and other tools to assist with getting out in the snow. The renters should not have to hold this responsibility. The most inconvenient requirement of checkout is that you must take all trash into town and dispose of it in a dumpster behind the property management office. This is something that should be advised upon booking, not check-in. If you are unable to remove the trash before checkout, it is $50 per bag that is deducted from your security deposit. For the price of the house, renters should not have to take out their trash, especially when we are already paying a hefty cleaning fee. It is not a fun way to end a vacation. Future renters should heed our advice and think twice about booking this property.

Overall, very nice. Good location. Quality house with a number of nice features. Quiet and warm, nice audio system with plenty of room. Would like to see a hot tub on the property and to have the deck shoveled off so it would be usable with a outdoor fire.

Better than expected

We stayed at the for three nights over the New Years. The house is actually bigger than it looked on the pictures. Main room is very spacious and is open to the kitchen which makes the entire space even more useful. Lots of room upstairs as well. We had 4 adults/4 kids in our party and felt very comfortable. Large deck overlooking the lake is very nice for warmer times of the year. One thing to be aware of - the driveway to the house slopes down and you might need to have better tires and an SUV to make it back up when it snows. Tacoma made it fine, Highlander did not. Overall - would definitely recommend this property, and would probably come back when it's warm to enjoy the lake views from the deck.

Great house, room for improvement

Our check in process was easy. We requested a late check out Sunday of 1pm because we had an evening flight and had to drive to Denver. The rental office extended the check out from 10am to 11am but insisted if we stayed any longer they would charge us for an entire day. Even though the next renters were not arriving for a few days and the cleaning crew were not coming to clean on a Sunday. This would have been an easy request to accommodate but the “owner of the business” got flustered and unaccommodating upon our request. The bathrooms need to be better stocked. We only had 5 people staying at the house listed for 10 and even with our small group we were running out of toilet paper and needed to buy our own…which we left doe the next renters. There was a couple of tiny soaps but there was ZERO toiletries to take a shower. We didn’t have body wash, shampoo/conditioner etc. We needed to shower for a wedding and it was disappointing to be without proper supplies. We found it inconvenient not to have trash pick up. We had to put our bags of trash for the weekend in the car with left over bbq etc and dispose of it in a dumpster behind the rental office. If there is a cleaning crew coming maybe you have a trash bin for the guests to leave the trash and the cleaning crew takes care of the trash dumping. We had to make a couple trips because our luggage and trash bags would not both fit in the car which is a pain when we had a deadline to get out of the house. When we left Sunday and my sister had left her wedding rings on the counter. I texted the number given to me and we were thankful of the quick response. The rings were retrieved and put in the lockbox for a family member to pick up. Thank you for making the trip to get the rings that was a big help. The house is nice, spacious and clean. It would not have been easy to fit 10 people in the house as described unless you are putting people on couches?? Overall it was a good place to stay for a couple days with a few improvements in hospitality it would be much better.

Great log cabin with an awesome view of the lake and mountains. We got a visit from a moose and her baby. Saw a deer while having breakfast at the house too. We enjoyed a birthday dinner at Huntington Tavern at Grand Lake Lodge. The weather was awesome and we got to enjoy fall colors.
