Amber Hotel offers its guests a convenience store, express check-out, and a television in a common area. Public spaces have free WiFi. Free self parking is available.
This establishment should not be rated more than 1 star. I have been in 2 star hotels that are way better than that. For the price I paid, it is definitely not worth it. For a few dollars more, you could get a 4 star hotel. I would not price this hotel more than $100. They overcharge because Grand Bend is a hip place to go.
Amber Hotel was clean, check in was fast, pillows were confirtable best priced accommodations in the area. The only negative thing was that the shower gel container was empty. Overall 5 stars.
The website for the hotel is very deceiving. I donât think ânewâ pillow top mattresses sag in the middle. One of the worst sleeps Iâve had. Thank god I took a Advil PM. I donât think I would have slept at all. As for Spacious room, the bed takes up the whole space and the bathroom is super tiny. I know itâs only a two star hotel so I shouldnât have had high expectations but saggy mattresses are a little crazy. Also Iâve stayed in boutique hotels before and this ainât one of them.
We have been to Amber a couple of times and it's a nice small hotel not to far from grand bend strip. Hotel is nice, clean and front desk is very helpful
the room was very nice and clean..hotel staff was very helpful..the beds were a bit on soft side but other than that all was very good and we would stay here again..very good location too
Nice small hotel, clean, nice bathroom, with coffee maker and boiling water.
Pizza store nearby along with No frills across the street.
About 9km from Pinery Provincial Park.
Tim Horton and Esso gas station around, walking distance.
I understand that this a "basic" hotel. I did not expect the Ritz, and I am not that picky.. but considering I paid almost $200 for one night in the room, I expected a few things...
1. I arrived and had to call and call and buzz and buzz for 20 minutes before someone came to the front desk.
2. The mattress is essentially on the floor... no box spring... once you got down to the mattress it was reasonably comfortable, but for older folks, getting up and down from the mattress was painful.
3. Tessimo coffee maker said it could not work because it needed to be cleaned, something that should be checked between clientele.
4. Just so you know the room held a king size bed (on the floor) and a desk, nothing else could possibly fit in that room.
5. Evening turned cold and the heat would not work, someone came after we called and attempted a fix.
6. I must say that once you got a hold of the management, they were responsive.
We could not stay there as there were no elevator .as we are both handicaped and can not climb stairs .and the person we talked to there didnt care and didnt offer our noney back .was actually very rude .so we got taken for 140 dollars not a good experience..
