Amber Hotel offers its guests a convenience store, express check-out, and a television in a common area. Public spaces have free WiFi. Free self parking is available.
This establishment should not be rated more than 1 star. I have been in 2 star hotels that are way better than that. For the price I paid, it is definitely not worth it. For a few dollars more, you could get a 4 star hotel. I would not price this hotel more than $100. They overcharge because Grand Bend is a hip place to go.
The amount of money we pay the hotel should be more clean.
The floor was dirty entrance stairs hallway dust in the room windows dirty fans and AC dirty
Avoid this"hotel." Non-existent customer service, rude staff - proudly displaying a notice that literally says "don't ring the desk bell 47 times"...we will get to you when we can. I'm sure neither the hotel staff not the hotel owners would care about this review but I hope hotel.com will and delist this "hotel" from their service.
Left a day early it was so bad. Sheets dirty. Bathroom filthy. Mildewy. Boxes and garbage in lobby area. Our window a dumpster and surgeon garbage and skids was chaos.
Air conditioning sucked took a very long time to get a little cool
No fan in bathroom - very steamy when and after showering - can already see mild around bathroom floor
Two beds crammed into room
Had to leave early for a family emergency at home - âjust leave key in roomâ. No return on second night or any sort of discount - quite expensive for this facility but had never been there before so thought we would try.
I artived pretty late but thankfully check in was smooth and quick. The door to my room was difficult to open and didnt open all the way. I noticed it was because of some damage (water?) To the floor. The room was clean and had everything needed for a quick stay. The mattress on the bed definitely needed an upgrade. Air conditioning was a bit difficukt to figure out but got the room a bit cooler once i did figure it out.
The check in /out was very easy.
the lamp shade and sheets on cot had stains but sheets were replaced immediately and very happy with that. overall we had a good time and no complaints
We stayed at Amber Hotel in Grand Bend Beach for two nights and paid over $600âbut what we experienced was far from what youâd expect at that price point.
The room was dirty and poorly maintained. There was visible dust, stains, and dirt in multiple areas. The soap dispenser was filthy, and the hairdryer was dusty and looked like it hadnât been cleaned in ages. The bathroom had yellow stains, poorly patched caulking, and a general feeling of neglect.
What shocked us most was that we found an insect that looked like a bed bug on the bed the first night. We took a photo and killed it immediately. That alone made the stay extremely uncomfortable.

On top of everything, no housekeeping service came during our stayâno fresh towels, no cleaning, nothing. Thatâs unacceptable for a hotel at this price level. It honestly felt more like a low-end motel than a proper hotel.
We were very dissatisfied and would not return or recommend this place. Amber Hotel needs a serious deep cleaning and better management before charging guests this kind of money.
The property isnât well kept, the hallways arenât vacuumed and the room arenât the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The bathrooms leave something to be desired. The fan in our bathroom didnât work and you could tell it hadnât been working for a long time as the paint is starting to peel, the grout in the bathroom is growing mold, and when we asked for extra towels we didnât receive them.
