The caboose we stayed in did not look like the pictures. It was run down. It was older and smelled musty, spider webs in the bunk room and ceiling, There was a spider in my bed and a few bugs around so the kids wouldn’t sleep. It’s summer on a farm so it wouldn’t be a big deal if you are a camper. The windows had dead bugs and dirt around them. I spent a lot to stay there and maybe they should let visitors know they may get an old one.

A unique lodging experience! I booked this for my family of three. I loved a lot of things about it. Inside the caboose, it was clean! It was simple but had everything I needed. I appreciate that the beds had wheels, I was able to push it against the wall for my 4 year old. You can regulate the temperature. Outside, I loved the open air. We enjoyed the area on the other side of the caboose, it has a mini play area for children. The motel has other areas to explore, even has a petting zoo and budgy rides for a fee. I appreciate the peacefulness and quietness, a mini getaway from the city.

We stayed in one of the train cars which was terrific. These had such a quaint charm. Everything was in great condition and it was super quiet. Even better was waking up and walking over to the petting zoo and petting the goat, donkeys, miniature horses and alpaca. This would be a wonderful place for families and was a great place for a couple as it was relaxing, unique and beautiful. We also had breakfast at the Casey Jones restaurant which was on the premises. It was hearty and charming.

Very cute concept, warm and welcoming staff. Special shout out to Erica in the restaurant who handled our large group with grace. Our caboose listed about 3-5 degrees (depending on where you stood) which was disorienting. The place was fully booked so they couldn’t offer other accommodations. Overall about what we expected. Definitely a hoot.

Red Caboose Apr 2025 stay

Loved the balcony on our farmhouse unit. Great for waking up and having a cup of coffee on the balcony of our room. Could use a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. We took a night light with us for the bathroom which really helped. No closet or hangers, so could have used a few hooks on the wall for hanging clothes. Overall, it was very good and we would stay again.

Sleeping in a railcar surrounded by open farm land and farm animals, next to a railroad line, with a great restaurant and a shop full of railroad memorabilia was great for kids and adults

Each Caboose is laid out a bit differently. Make it a one of a kind experience! Definitely going back! Food at the Casey Jones restaurant was great and reasonably priced! Attractions within a one mile radius.
