This was my first time using Vrbo, so I wasnt sure about the check in process. I was expecting someone to meet me there and give me a key, but I eventually figured it out. It was a bit chilly in the cottage. I found the breaker box and flipped on the baseboard heat just for a short time. The cottage was clean and very well cared for. We enjoyed ecploring the area. My sister and I enjoyed our time together. Remember to take sheets. We also brought our own towels.
Nice place - Donât forget about sheets and towels!
This is a rustic place, but nice. Kitchen is large and bathroom is good sized. Two things to consider before booking:
1. You need to bring your own towels and bedding.
2.You need to pay entry fees and parking to stay in Lakeside. It was $90/day for two adults, two children and on-site parking during the summer. You will be asked for your admission when entering and leaving.
Lakeside is nice, and it was very homey.
The property was exactly as advertised. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I and our 3 teenage grandchildren. The location was a short walking distance to activities. It was small, but suited our needs. The kids appreciated the puzzles and raced each other to see who could complete the fastest. A nice break from tv and phones! It was great having a washer & dryer for towels & swimsuits - no wet items to take home. We would definitely stay again. ( AND, I loved the notebook detailing the family history of the home - it made it special. The floors are awesome!)
As one of the first ten cottages built in Lakeside, it is fittingly aged. Very cute little rental that we were comfortable in and it had everything we needed. The window AC units will keep you cool in the summer.
My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was well-equipped and conveniently located a short walk from the lake, downtown, and Hoover Auditorium. The air conditioning worked great on hot and humid days and on more pleasant days we especially enjoyed relaxing on the front porch. We would definitely stay there again.
The house is no doubt one of the oldest, but it worked for us. Steps arenât for the elderly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the porch was great. Nice quiet area easy walking distance to main areas.
The cottage is supplied with everything you could need. We brought our own bedding. We brought towels but there were many available. We used the washer and dryer several times.
Everything was within easy walking distance- a few bocks away.
The hosts responded promptly to texts, which was especially appreciated when we locked ourselves out of the cabin! A tip for renters: when you flush the toilet, pull the handle out as you push it down for stronger flush.
No complaints!
We enjoyed our stay at this lake cottage at Lakeside. Easy walking distance to shuffleboard, lake activities, and also the swimming pool/tennis and pickleball courts. The cottage was clean and had a nice TV and wifi for the internet. The cottage was plenty big for a family of 5. We definitely would stay here again.
A beautiful quaint cottage in Chautauqua Lakeside community. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. Having a washer a dryer were a bonus. There were some supplies provided to get you started. Window air conditioning really helped to keep the cottage comfortable. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The front porch was a great place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. The Lakeside community was such a great place to visit with a cozy âdowntownâ area with shops and restaurants (ice cream is a must!). People were so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning in the future. We highly recommend the cottage and the community!
We loved the beautiful 1892 antique home and furnishings with modern conveniences. Well stocked kitchen appliances, dishes and pots and pans. Listing was exactly as appeared with some very nice touches. Nice screen porch.
Host/owner very responsive.
