The room was clean but the desk chair flimsy. Think IKEA basic chair. When I sat down on it, the chair collapsed. I fell backwards and hit the floor with my head and left shoulder. I filed a report and was told that management would contact me. I haven't heard a word from management.

Staff was great. Building is clean but old. (Not a deal breaker). What I didn’t like was NO morning coffee and no microwave in the room. Great beach access. The restaurants along the walkways were great!

Everything was great from the time we arrived. We were upgraded to a ocean front suite which was huge and had spectacular views. WE enjoyed the sister hotel just behind it on Collins ave where we received a complimentary welcome beverage and served continental breakfast. The roof top pool area was nice as well. Beach towels and the use of beach chairs was made available as well although we didn't use them. Staff was friendly and very helpful with any questions we had. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio at both the Penguin Hotel and their sister hotel (President) on Collins Avenue. Liked that shops and lots of restaurants were within walking distance and the Beach was literally across the street. We would definitely stay here again.

The bathroom door was frosted glass so privacy was not great. There was no bar even though it said there was. You have to go to another hotel for that. Also, you have to go to another hotel for a pool. No drinks or food allowed at the pool so that was not fun. The staff was friendly and the location was good.

We really enjoyed the property and location, however I have a couple suggestions…replace the bed in 401…it’s actually horrible, my husband and I just rolled i to the middle, the TV remote didn’t work unless you pointed it behind the TV and the AC sounds like you are sleeping in an airplane. I am almost never negative but we spent a LOT of money to stay 1 night. The front staff however was AMAZING!!
