This home is just perfect. Itâs beautifully remodeled, huge, comfortable and right on the beach. Our only wish was that we could have used the elevator. We had elderly parents come to a 2-night family party and one had both Alzheimerâs and Parkinsonâs. Getting up the stairs to the elevated house was especially difficult knowing there was an elevator that was not at our disposal. I do understand and suspect that if I was the owner, I may not make that luxury readily available to all guests. I would definitely stay in this home again and my siblings also noted they hope to do another family reunion and rent the same exact house. Itâs truly spectacular in every way.
We booked this house as a group of 7 guys for the last 3 nights of a golfing trip. As I understand it, the house has changed hands over the last year, and you can see the work the new owner has started to put into the place. The outside looks incredible. The paint, new doors and windows, deck furniture, etc. all looked the part of high end beach house. The inside doesn't match the fittings of the outside, but that's part of updating a home. It was certainly comfortable, and our group didn't have any real issues. The showers are a bit small, but functional, the furnishings were dated but still comfortable, etc. So the outside is multi-million in its appearance, and the interior doesn't keep up, but is just fine. The view is priceless. It's a quiet beach, and can you really beat the Atlantic as your backyard? No. What a place! The management company was responsive and easy to work with, so no issues there. All in all, a wonderful place to stay. Not to mention the fact that Caledonia, True Blue, and the Heritage Club were all barely 10 mins away. It was a great trip.
This review is a little different. I reserved DolphinView November 26, 2020. This house had been sold and was undergoing major renovations unbeknowst to me. The renovations were to be completed my February. Due to unforeseen circumstances the renovations were not completed by then. So the property management moved us to another house (LeReve). Due to communication issues I did not find out we had been moved until 8 days before we left when I asked a question about DolphinView. Our ages were 2-72 and the DolphinView shown in the pictures would have been ideal. With LeReve, it was an older home but it is solid. The walls, floors and ceiling in the whole house is made of solid wood. No sheetrock anywhere! This is great for soundproofing. The bedroom situation was not ideal for our family. We had adults on trundles on the floor, there were more single beds that full beds so we had to adjust accordingly. The house has a narrow wood spiral staircase that leads to the second floor where there are 3 bedrooms and a kids playing area. This was horrible for us. We had a set of twins that are 2 and then a 8, 6, 5, year old. I was in fear the whole time that the older kids were going to fall down them and then we were constantly trying to block the stairs with anything we could find to keep the two year olds from climbing up them. It was a constant fight! So if you have small children this is not the house you want. Kids 8 and older would be fine. But I have to say some of our adults were not too fond of going up and down them either. The house has a wonderful huge screened in porch where we stayed most of the time. A large sun deck and a walkway that leads straight onto the beach. Which is wonderful for the kids! They had a gate at the end of the walkway so we could let the small kids run around without worrying if they would go down the stairs.
The master bath has a sunken whirlpool tub but it was broken. All other bathrooms have showers except there is one bathroom downstairs that has a tub and this is where we bathed the toddlers. The kitchen is stocked with every utensil you can think of. Even spices which is very unusual. Our family ended up having a good time despite the rocky start. But we all agreed the spiral staircase is not for us.
