This apartment is located in the old Downtown Reykjavik, in a small house close by to museums, grocery stores and a pool. In only 5-10 min walking distance you'll have endless options of restaurants & bars and in 15-20 min distance you'll reach the main shopping street, Laugavegur and the Pond. The apartment accommodates 5 guests, 2 in double bed, 1 single bed and 2 in a sofa bed.



The Space:

This lovely central two bedroom apartment is located in small house on the ground floor. It accommodates 5 people, using the sofa bed in the living room. Perfect for a family.

The apartment features fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, stove, toaster and kettle.

The main bedroom is furnished with a comfy double bed and the second room with a single bed. Free WIFI and smart TV.

The Neighborhood:

This apartment is located in the older part of Downtown Reykjavik. It is very close to museums, such as the Saga museum and the Northern Lights Centre, and lower priced grocery stores.

In 5-10 min walking distance you'll find bakeries, bars and restaurants, such as the Grandi Food hall, an asian tapas place and an Italian restaurant. Downtown Reykjavik, where you'll find the main shopping street and endless variety of restaurants, bars and activities, is in 10-20 min walking distance and you'll find a public swimming pool in 15 min. walking distance. Visiting the swimming pools is a great part of the Icelandic culture and Vesturbæjarlaug includes: outdoor geothermal swimming pools, a steam room, sauna & hot tubs.

The apartment is located nearby the sea, so we recommend a sculpture & shore walk.



Getting Around:

Bus stop #15 - Vesturbugt is in 6 min walking distance, a pick-up/drop-off location for airport transfer and tours. There is free street parking by the house.

Overall a good place to stay

Place itself is very nice. However, parking was tricky and a shade for the front door would make it easier to sleep for the person on the couch.

Amenities,I asked if there was a microwave at the property. They replied yes, we brought microwave food but there wasn’t a microwave, we had to throw away food and go hungry, it ruined our last nights stay. Bathroom was tiny, seeing as it sleeps 5 people, we were only two. Very small handbasin with cabinet above that jutted over and no plug.

I stayed here with 3 friends for a weekend trip! It was a spacious and clean apartment. It was nice quiet safe neighborhood location that was still convenient. It took us around 25 minutes to walk to the main part of downtown (sometimes longer is snow and ice). They also were able to change the front door keypad within an hour when the battery died. Overall really great experience and I’d recommend the apartment. Two minor comments: the bathroom sink was incredibly small and we arrived after 12+ inches of snow and they didn’t shovel the entrance. It was icy and difficult to get in and out of the apartment and when we asked if they could shovel, they said they didn’t have one.

The property was very clean and well equipped although we did not cook in the unit. I would have liked a night light in the kitchen. There wasn't a lamp in the living room, but I think it was moved into a BR. We moved it to the LR while we were there. As a foreigner, the recycling is impressive, but having the bins under the sink labeled to sort would have been easier for us to sort. The location was great. We were a few minutes' walk to the bay and about 15 minutes to downtown area. Reykjavik is a very walkable area. Find your parking spot near the unit and walk! Scan the QR code on the table upon your arrival for great information.
