Bij aankomst werden wij netjes opgewacht door de eigenaresse van de villa en kregen wij een uitgebreide rondleiding met uitleg over diverse zaken die van belang waren. Voor de meesten van ons was het een 1e bezoek aan Italië en het uitzicht vanuit onze villa in Toscane was overweldigend. Wij hebben met onze volledige familie genoten van een fantastische week en hebben nog een aantal plaatsen in de omgeving bezocht (o.a. Florence)). De villa uit 1580 was ruim met meer dan voldoende slaapkamers en douche gelegenheden en eigenaresse Ilaria stond altijd klaar om ons nuttige tips te geven. Kortom een prachtige week met stralend weer.

Villa Pepi is more than just a villa!

I've barely come out of my post vacation depression and I find myself daydreaming of Villa Pepi. I had no idea of the historical significance of the property nor the gift of Ilaria. Ilaria is the owner and she is so kind. The villa is so well located for day trips and getting to Florence is so easy; the train station only 4 mins by car. We were 13 people with 4 teenagers who were thrilled to have the 3rd floor to themselves. For me, the best part was the beautiful view across the valley from the front of the house. In the morning with coffee and in the evening with wine - always so relaxing. Ilaria likes to save the best for last so on the last evening she came to show us the family chapel and the tower sharing the history of the property. So much context; I was in heaven. With all the photos in the house, the old ledgers framed in the kitchen, I really understood Villa Pepi's historical significance in the region. Ilaria is a wonderful keeper of the legacy and she speaks very good English. I absolutely loved Villa Pepi and look forward to returning someday.

Historical Villa

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Pepi. The country views and refreshing pool were amazing. There is a fragrant garden to come home to after a hot day touring. The amenities are antique or at least old, but this is part of the charm. The kitchen has everything you need to make a full meal. If you are looking for modern amenities like Air conditioning and sectoinal sofas look elsewhere, also there are many steps from room to room and steep hills around the Villa so it is not ideal for anyone with impaired mobility. The house did stay a comfortable temperature in June while we where there.

Een fantastische villa in een prachtig landschap, en Iliara is een geweldige eigenaresse en gastvrouw. We verbleven hier met de Amerikaanse familie van mijn man, voor hen de eerste kennismaking met Italië, en we hadden geen betere plek kunnen kiezen. De villa heeft zo veel historie, en de plek is zo rustig dat je kunt genieten van de rust of ongestoord een klein feestje kunt geven. Iliara is als gastvrouw fantastisch. Ze heeft er alles aan gedaan om ons verblijf memorabel te maken, waaronder het inschakelen van een privé chef die een heerlijke maaltijd voor ons heeft bereid. De kamers zijn prachtig, er is veel ruimte in de villa, en het is er heerlijk koel als je na een warme dag buiten, je slaapvertrek op zoekt. Al met al een echte aanrader als je met een groep vrienden of met familie van elkaar en de omgeving wilt genieten.

Een zeer geschikte mysterieuze, grote villa met veel geschiedenis voor een groot gezelschap of voor een vakantie voor een bijzondere gelegenheid (bv. trouwfeest) met prachtig uitzicht. Ondanks de warme temperaturen is het huis door de luiken en dikke muren heerlijk koel te houden. Daarnaast is er nog een heerlijke zwembad in de goed verzorgde tuin (met vers fruit). Prachtig! Zoals een vakantiehuis in Italië hoort te zijn!
