Eddy and Valeria were wonderful!!!!! Eddie helped us call for taxis when we needed to catch a ferry and a train to the airport. He was cordial and so friendly and helpful. Their apartment had great air conditioning and it was a short walk down to coffee and restaurants thank you again!
The hosts were very helpful in anything that we needed. The location was perfect for us because we used the train for all our travels and the apartment is less than five minutes away by walking. The apartment had everything that you needed for sleeping and cooking. The apartment is about ten minutes or less walking distance to any restaurant.
Cute clean apartment but with misleading information and ammenities
I had very good communication with the property owner throughout the planning period and during the stay. While the apartment was very clean there were some general flaws with the listing and some of the amenities that made this a less than pleasant experience. The first sentence of the listing highlights the parking available at the apartment. There is no parking, it is street parking like you'd expect anywhere else. Additionally, the shower water got ice cold after two minutes which made it impossible for a family of 5 to shower at any point. Also, the listing says it's three bedrooms, plus a pull-out couch. Instead, it is two bedrooms with a pull-out couch. I believe this is likely due to a language translation issue but it should be fixed. Lastly, we needed to wash clothes in the washing machine, and it was so rusty we did not feel comfortable putting our clothes in. The owners were kind, but it just does not make up for these issues. I'm hopeful things will be corrected in the listing so others do not encounter these same issues and will have a better experience.
Comfortable apartment with a serviceable kitchen. No microwave and little hot water for dishes. The shower had hot water. Washing machine is old and rusty on outside and the door doesnât fully open because of the bidet. Just be careful using it. It does clean!
Smart TV in bedroom only.
Quiet location. Itâs an easy stroll into the town center, train station and port, but a decent climb back up!
We were very comfortable in the apartment.
Salerno is great for day trips to Amalfi, Paestum and Pompei.
Valeriaâs apartment was a lovely location for a stay in Salerno. Though it is several floors up, there is an elevator to take you there. The check-in is contactless and seamless. The rooms were lovely and the kitchen had everything we could have needed. I would recommend this location for travelers that are taking public transportation and not necessarily driving themselves. Though there are paid parking and parking garages, it was a little difficult to find something nearby (to be fair we ended up unexpectedly visiting on a celebration week. Thank you Valeria for a great stay.
This location is fantastic if you want to stay away from the tourist areas. Still close enough to walk around though. The 'Quality on the Table' grocers nearby is fantastic. Lots of quality cafes and meal options. The property was a little haven during our Salerno stay.
The apartment was nice, welcoming and cozy. The host was nice. There were three A/C units. One in each bedrooms and one in Livingroom.
The only down part was that A/C in one of bedrooms was not working and you can imagine how unpleasant the condition would be in July.
The host said she's been having a problem with that unit. I hope it gets fixed cause heat in that part of Italy in month of July and August is not bearable.
We spent a very nice week in July with five people in this apartment. The apartment is very attractively furnished, pleasantly cool, equipped with everything you need, and in a beautiful, convenient location - city beach, old town, bars, supermarket, etc. are all within easy walking distance; the harbor and train station are also not far away. Salerno is a very pretty city and a good starting point for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Our host helped us upon arrival (we arrived early) and was quick and very kind with tips and assistance whenever we had difficulties. Thanks again for everything!
Overall, we (2 adults + 2 small kids) enjoyed the apartment and stay. If planning to walk from train station; just know that it is a bit of uphill walk but for normal adults; the 20mins is fine. With kids smaller than 7-9 might be a bit challenging. We love the mini market that is 5 houses down for small groceries. If you are planning to cook in the apartment, there are not many amenities so prepare to buy them yourselves.
I communicated with the owner Valeria through WhatsApp, and she was always responsive to my questions. Check-in was very easy! Valeria could not meet us personally, so her husband Eddy checked us in. Eddy greeted us at the front door and helped us carry our luggage to the apartment. The apartment is located on the 5th floor, so be ready for a workout. There is an elevator, but itâs so small that it can barely fit 2 people with luggage at one time. The apartment is very spacious and clean. Both bedrooms were very large and roomy. The couch in the living room also converts into a bed if need be. The apartment was comfortable and quiet. Thereâs a small grocery store 5-minute walk away. The harbor was about 20 minutes walk. We enjoyed our stay in Salerno and wish we could have stayed longer...So much to see. Check-out was easy as well. We would definitely use this apartment again on our next visit to Salerno! Grazie Mille Valeria and Eddy!
Salerno amazed us so cute and quaint! The property was clean and spacious. May have misread listing but one of the rooms was the common room with the kitchen. But honestly everything was perfect! The host was super communicative and kind. Met us at property and gave us a good run down of the town. The rooms where beautiful and the location was great to the downtown area and even the harbor. Would highly recommend staying here!
The appt was excellent , clean and well equipped only thing it would benefit from was some mirrors in the bedroom. Valeria was lovely , helpful with advice on how to get to places and were to eat. Situation was great beside the railway station but quiet. Would recommend it as great place to stay
Valeria's art apartment is far more spacious than it looks on the images, with a generous main bedroom, good sized bathroom and a second bedroom with a wonderful view.
It's a very short walk to the train station, which takes you to the places you wish to go (Pompeii is less than half an hour and Vietri Sul Mare on the Amalfi coast is one stop).
It's also on the edge of the old part of Salerno, which is massively underrated. Lots of atmosphere at night.
We stayed for two weeks. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beds were comfortable. The A/C was amazing after a day out in the heat. Owners are very friendly and helpful. They gave recommendations of transport, places to visit and restaurants.
The apartment is in Salerno, which is a beautiful city with place to visit and lots of lovely restaurants. We used it as a base to visit Amalfi coast, Sorrento, Capri, Naples, Pompei, Herculaneum and Paestrum. Salerno is perfectly postioned to visit all of these. The train is literally outside the apartment and is very convenient and easy to use. The first stop of the SITA bus is in Salerno so you can get a seat on the way to the Amalfi coast. Would recommend using a ferry on the return journey however as the buses get full quickly. We also took a ferry to Capri which was amazing.
Perfect accommodation and a perfect holiday. My only request for the accommodation would be some mirrors in the bedrooms. Highly recommended!
Very nice and big flat, well equipped. Historical city centre few minutes walk and the bay area is not far either. Due to the nearby train stop we had an easy access to travel which was a nice surprise. We did not have any problems at all. Perfect local pizza take away place nearby đ
We enjoyed our stay at "Art at Home". The owner was very nice and provided us with just about everything we needed for our 10 day stay. In the heat of the summer, it was great to have cold AC. The elevator to the 5th floor was wonderful and being so close to the train station was great for our daily outings. We took it to Pompei and Naples. It is also very convenient to take it to the main Salerno station then walk to the ferry port and enjoy day trips to many stops along the coast including Minori, Almalfi and Positano. There were a lot of great restaurant recommendations from the owner. The ones that we ate at were excellent! If you want something different try Mo' Sushi for all you can eat sushi and apps. Use the Fork app to reserve and you can get a discount (up to 50%!). We also enjoyed the tapas menu at Taperia Mediterreane. The deli right around the corner from the apartment on the way to the train station was absolutely amazing! The prices were incredible too. We thought they made a mistake when it was less than $10 for 3 huge sandwiches. Make sure to put this on your list to stop at. Overall great apartment, good location and wonderful hosts.
