My new home away from home

The room was so clean, and had no signs of wear, I thought I was the first person to stay there. The front desk advised the room had seen many guests before me. The bed was sumptuously comfortable. The bedding was soft, cozy, and snowy white, every piece of it. Every member of the staff was friendly, cheerful, and happy to help. Even the gentleman trimming the bushes outside was congenial. But the one that really stood out was Melissa, she made me feel at home the moment I walked in. We spoke many times in passing over 3 days. I had the need of a microwave oven, she got me one within 5 minutes of checking in.

Over all I really enjoyed my stay here. It was close and convenient to both ferry's to Kelley's Island and Put in Bay. Pool was nice. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was okay. Last day of our stay they were out of most of the options we wanted. We stayed for 5 days, and my understanding was that we would get housekeeping after night three (day four). But we'd requested new towels on day three and not received any other housekeeping services. Room was decent size. However there were not enough plugs near the bed and our phones do not take USB chargers anymore. So we had to utilize the bathroom outlets to charge devices. Was also surprised there was not an in room microwave (never stayed at a hotel that didn't so I didn't even think to look at the room amenities). So we had to go downstairs to use the community microwave.

The place is super convenient – just a few minutes from the African Safari Park, with a water park right across the street. There's also a strip mall in the same parking lot featuring a fantastic Mexican restaurant. The property itself offers a spa, an Italian restaurant with outdoor seating, a pond filled with catfish and Koi, and a fun playground for the kids. You'll find a Verizon store, an eyeglass shop, and a cute boutique nearby too. The indoor pool stays open until about 10:30 or 11 pm, and their breakfast spread is great — with sausage, bacon, waffles (you make your own!), muffins, fruit, yogurt, and more. I’d definitely stay here again!
