Interaction with Guests: Property managers live at Bluebird Farm CT. We are happy to help if need be, however, I follow my guestsâ lead.
It was overall so wonderful! The perfect place for a cozy weekend getaway. The beds and the pillows were very comfortable. Owners very friendly and accommodating. We loved the sheep, the cats. And the dogs, and the little store in the barn. I would definitely stay here again. The one negative (but still a five star place despite the one negative) was that the shower had zero water pressure, basically a small trickle of water.
Bluebird farm was a such a nice play to stay to relax and unwind from all the daily stressors in life!. The cabin is cozy, and beautifully decorated with lots of amenities!! I highly recommend it
The Barn Loft was extremely cozy and a great place to stay over the holidays. The host was extremely accommodating and kept in touch quite often during our stay to see if anything was needed. We had a slight problem with the shower but it was adressed very quickly. If you're looking for a cozy rustic place to stay I would highly recommend it.
The Good:1. Comfortable & Cozy: The beds are excellent, especially in the main bedroom. Perfect atmosphere for fall and winter stays with generally good privacy.2. Beautiful Farm Setting: Beautiful gazebo on the property with friendly resident cat and dog.3. Great Nearby Dining: Excellent restaurant options in the area. Highly recommend brunch at Flat Pennies (10-minute drive). UConn's Dairy Bar is also worth visiting (15-minute drive). The Bad:1. Unresponsive Management: Communication is limited to automated VRBO messages. Requests to visit farm animals and arrange a bonfire went unanswered.2. No Kitchen Sink: Makes cooking and cleanup extremely difficult. While basic cooking supplies (knives, oils, salt, pepper) are provided, the lack of a sink is a major inconvenience. Water supply is limited to a jug, which was less than half full upon arrivalâwe had to purchase water from a gas station.3.Poor Bathroom Setup: Single composting toilet located directly in the main bedroom creates privacy issues. No kitchen sink means all liquid disposal must go into the bathroom sink, toilet, or shower floorânone ideal for cooking.4. Shower Issues: Unpleasant odor from shower floor. Body wash was not restocked.I recommend the place for short (1-2 night) stays.
My husband, two teen daughters, and myself stayed here for a night on our way to visit UConn.
It was very comfortable and cozy⊠a home away from home.
Love the electric fireplaces as they add ambience and relaxation.
Would recommend!
Me and my friend Mary stayed here while we were vending at the Brimfield show. The place is so peaceful and beautiful. Carmen and Joe were the best hosts. Always available and helpful. Definitely will go back.
Wonderful Barn Loft on a beautiful small farm.
My daughter enjoyed the farm animals. We enjoyed a nice fire pit for a peaceful evening with firelight. The room was really cozy with a small kitchenette. The shower stall was a sweet unique experience with a nice secret door into the hay loft.
I was originally concerned that the room might feel dark having only 1 small window, however the dawning light poured in and provided plenty of morning sun.
The family who owned the farm was really friendly.
We will plan to come again !
