The room was amazing. Very clean, great service. Would highly recommend staying here. I will be booking again for my next trip to Catalina. Private balcony with ocean view. Close to the Main Street and shops. Walkable from ferry port.

Wonderful Hotel

This was a perfect small hotel to stay at during our visit to Catalina Island. It was in a great location. The room and bathroom were small, but we did not require much room. Breakfast was provided which was enough variety with eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal, coffee/tea. There was also wine and cheese offered in the afternoon. The best part was the rooftop lounge area which we used to hang out during different times of the day. It has a spectacular view and is a quiet space to relax and enjoy. The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive. On the day we checked out, our ferry wasn’t leaving until later in the day and we were able to continue using the hotel as our “home base” to change, use the restroom, get water and coffee. This was super helpful so we could enjoy the day. Overall, our experience was wonderful and we would stay there again.

This was my second time visiting Catalina Island. The first time was a cruise day trip, and this time my husband and I came for a two-night getaway. After researching several hotels, we chose Aurora Hotel because of the great reviews and recently renovated rooms. It’s about a 12-minute walk from the ferry—just a slight uphill at the end, so if you have heavy luggage, expect a few pauses. Check-in was quick and friendly. The room was on the second floor (no elevator, but only two floors total). It’s on the smaller side but had everything we needed: a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, two complimentary bottles of water, and even two candies on the bed! The room was super clean with a fresh scent, and there were plenty of towels, robes, and thoughtful amenities like shower gel, body lotion, cotton balls, and ear cleaners. We didn’t use the A/C—just opened the windows. You will hear some golf carts and neighbors, so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs or use the A/C instead. The rooftop lounge was one of my favorite parts. It’s open from 8am to 10pm, and I actually took a relaxing nap there in the sunshine. They also offer a continental breakfast; we grabbed yogurt and coffee and headed to a local restaurant for a full meal. Overall, we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend Aurora Hotel for a clean, comfortable, and peaceful Catalina Island stay.

The front desk service was excellent. Room was cute and quaint. I recommend wearing your kicks since the hotel is uphill. I will definitely come back.

The one thing that I would suggest is the property to have is a golf cart that can pick up there guests at the bottom of the road to the hotel. It’s a steep walk up to the hotel, especially for seniors.

Nice place. Freindly staff. Room was small but functional. Rooftoop view was great. Breakfast was disappointing. They were out of sausage around 8:15 and the potatoes were terrible. So we ended up eating light and getting early lunch. Breakfast was my only negative experience.

Good location, decently maintained. Checkin was very convenient, was able to checkin early because they had rooms available. Bathroom was small, and the sink was VERY small, theres a Microwave, safe, refrigerator in the room along with a Keurig coffee maker. Quite comfortable.
