A little shabby but I think that's because it's right next to the water and so humid. I think the front desk staff were a little aloof but I think it was because of the language barrier otherwise super sweet. We loved the housekeeping and room service staff, super sweet everytime we encountered them. The pool is small but never crowded, it's perfect when you don't want to get hassled at the beach. The beach was amazing too! Make sure you get an ocean view room. Everything is easy to get to, taxis are cheap and basically wait at the hotel for when you need one. The restaraunt was great to people watch andthe food isn't bad either. Everything is a great price point too! One area for improvement is the water situation. They give you two bottles in the minibar but after that you have to request water which can take a while and you have to pay for each bottle. I advise Capilla del Mar to give two bottles for free every day and then charge after the second one. We kept missing the free breakfast because the black out curtains kept us asleep until 1pm. I will definitely be back! Check out their message packages too, very good price point for couples massages.

Everything was Great! The water in my room should have been free! There was no iron or ironing board! I was here for 5 days and 4 nights...the wifi went in and out. No cable for 3 days. Watch NETFLIX on my phone!

Killer views and a beachfront location should give this place top rating but the hostile attitude, xenophobia, occasionally snail slow WiFi and underwhelming beach experience place it in the two star category. NOT recommended.

Happy Traveler

Hotel located very well, very close to everything you like to see, food, beach, shopping, sites. the room was very good with view of beach at sunset. transportation is all very close, buffet in motel upscale and nice, expensive but nice. personell were not the most helpfull and you have to be a little pushy. The pool is on the roof and small.

The Hotel is good for the money

We had a good experience with the stay at this Hotel , except for the trouble we had to check in ,but the eveything else turned ok , we like the breakfast spread along with the room and the balcony view we had. the place is clean and the staff looks to make sure eveything is ok with you. I recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to venture into Cartagena.

No question. The best

Before leaving for Cartagena, I called Capilla del Mar to see if it was possible to book the same room I had on my February trip. The staff made no promises but indicated they would try. Lo, and behold. I got it. Because I was traveling to Aruba in the middle of my Cartagena trip, I had to make several requests of the reservations staff. Without hesitation, they found a way to make me happy. Talk about value. I am always surprised at how reasonable all the services are. There is never a question about where I will stay in Cartagena. It will always be Capilla Del Mar. No question.

Capitall del Mar - highly recommended

Our hotel was fabulous. They did not have our room ready when we arrived so they gave us an upgrade to a suite. The employees were very courteous and helpfull and I have nothing but great reviews for this hotel
