Housekeeping staff was great, they greeted us every time we passed and if we needed something they brought it quickly. Otherwise, this hotel needs some major overhaul. Check in was awful, the gentleman who handled check in was even worse. And that ruined the entire weekend. He was rude, did not tell us about a large fee that was immediately charged to our card, nor explain that the elevator required a key card to use, and made us feel less than and unwelcome. When we asked about the fee, he actually huffed at us, and only said "it's charged to anyone who stays here", which would have been fine if we had been told about it beforehand or he had explained what it was for like we asked. He barely gave us the wi-fi information, the only information he did give, and shooed us on our way. Will never stay there again, or recommend anyone else does either.

This property was the perfect location to serve as home base for our Chicago family vacation. It is clean, secure, and had all the things we needed when we weren't out and about. It is close to bus stops and a train station, and is easy walking distance to the museum campus. I don't think we could have found a more suitable hotel for our needs.

We had a fantastic stay at this Homewood Suites location! Traveling as a family of three with a baby can be stressful, but this hotel made it so easy for us. We were greeted by super friendly staff (Jason), and we were able to get early check-in and late check-out (which I understand is subject to availability). The room was spacious enough to unfold a pack and play, along with all of our belongings and a stroller. Everything was clean and cared for, including the well-stocked kitchen. They offered a wide variety of hot and cold options for breakfast and we definitely felt that this made our stay. It was so nice not to have to hunt down food in the morning. We were also there for the Wednesday night evening reception, which we found to have a large variety of fresh food as well! We also appreciated that there were highchairs available in the dining area. In terms of the location, this hotel was very walkable- we took the train in and were able to walk to and from the train station. It was also a short walk to the aquarium/museum campus area, as well as Soldier Field. We loved that it was a bit quieter in the South Loop than near the Magnificent Mile or River North areas. There were still lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and a grocery store nearby, none of which were crowded. We would definitely choose to stay here again if traveling to Chicago as a family!

Our stay was great. Lots of amenities. Free breakfast was nice. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool or fitness center as we hoped, so can’t review those. The only downside was the Chromecast didn’t work and the TV/cable signal was intermittent so we couldn’t watch anything for 3 days which is frustrating when it is your main source of in-hotel entertainment. I don’t think the hotel was doing anything to correct the problem. Bring a Roku or Fire stick!
