I loved my stay at Segara Agung. The staff and service were fantasticâwelcoming, attentive, and even helped with my luggage up and down the stairs. The location is excellent, just one block from the beach, and I felt secure the entire time. Sanur is a calmer alternative to Canggu or Kutaâmore laid-back vibes, couples in their 40s+, and chill evenings rather than all-night partying. Itâs also conveniently about 30 minutes from the airport, and the hotel arranged seamless transportation both ways. Breakfast (included) was amazing every morning. The property has a beautiful pool, reliable hot water, high ceilings, and plenty of space to unpack. Everything worked, and I didnât encounter any insects or animals. For value, itâs hard to beat: I stayed three nights for about $100, which felt like a steal for the area and proximity to the beach.
A note for travelers: this is an older structure (think pre-1920s style) with concrete/brick construction in a very humid climate. As a result, my room had a mild, musky smell that Iâm told is common near the beach. The bathroom also had a slight odor at firstâlikely due to older pipes and very hard waterâand for the first two days I kept the bathroom door closed. It improved over time. I donât consider this a service issue; itâs more about the age of the building and local infrastructure, but itâs worth knowing if youâre sensitive to humidity or scents.
Bottom line: fantastic staff, prime location, great breakfast, great value. A+
