This is a beautiful location and property only downside for us was the food was not Great. Staff was awesome, so kind and accommodating. Only reason for only 4 stars is the food.

We decided to stay at an all inclusive for the last 3 days of our CR trip. Road to the hotel was terrible. Hotel is outdated. There was a terrible smell of sewage everywhere. First room they gave us on 2nd floor was unbearably stinks of sewage. We then were moved to a 3rd floor room, which was less stinky, but we had to keep the balcony door open during our stay. Everything is outdated. Furniture consists pieces of woods nailed together and painted. Food was lame, tasteless, staff was tired, ignorant. Pool area was OK which was the only good thing. Beach was far away from hotel, nothing to sit on, bunch of people trying to sell you tours, etc. We worried about our safety and could not use the beach at all. The whole hotel area was designed for people to get drunk. Not worth your money or time. PS. that smell from the hotel is still on our luggages, clothes... Stay somewhere else, eat good food, use Tamarindo beach.

The beds are hard, and the pillows tiny and lumpy. 8" x 10" pillows are best suited for small children under 10, but not adults. Poor sleep nightly as a result. Staff were great, programming was great, and the food was good. Difficult to get table at Tokio as they fill up quickly, and don't ask guests to move along after dining. A large table could sit there drinking all night preventing other guests the opportunity to have a meal there at all. Buffet was delicious with great variety and options. Rooms are becoming somewhat dated with broken shower doors and cracked glass block. Our room had water damage in the ceiling. Grounds are meticulous, but there is nowhere to walk to, and you must taxi or shuttle everywhere. The water park is inconveniently located in the parking lot, rather than out back with the water, pools, and ocean. Asa result, we never made it out there to try.

The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The bedding linens were old and the bad was not comfortable. The overall experience was a 3.5 star.
