The building is entirely renovated with a lot of taste. We really enjoyed having two full bathrooms. Air conditioning was a must and it was quitte strong for once. The building is located in a quiet street which is just around everything you need to see. We will definitely adopt this place for our next stay. The laundry room on the bottom floor was a big plus after our Venice stay so we could wash our clothes. The only two things that would be nice to have on a futures stay are; a corkscrew to open wine bottles as our unit boasted a private outdoor patio and a toaster in the morning. Many thanks for a very comfortable stay in perfect conditions.!
We spent 35 days in this apt. The location was more than perfect and Florence a good jumping off point for travel thru Italy. Itâs on a quiet street but central. The apt itself a very good size for 2. The bathrooms modern and very good. Bedroom good and bed very comfortable. Washer and dryer an asset. Outdoor space is great to have for a long stay. AC excellent.
This apt is not a proper 2BR however. Second bed is in the living space so if you have guests make sure they are early risers and donât stay too long.
The kitchen is good. If this is an important feature for you some things to know. There is not a wine glass. 2 small water glasses. 8 big water glasses. 3 dining chairs. 3 teaspoons. Odd mix for a place sleeping 4. We had friends over drinking wine from espresso cups. Pots but no frying pan. Coffee maker but no filters. Unless the prior tenants leave things you have to buy everything on arrival.Dish soap sponge paper towels etc. Just know that before you go.
The outdoor space was great. Furniture could use a good cleaning. Cushions old and worn out. A shame since the space is so nice.
Washer and dryer great to have and a necessity for a long stay. Dryer is temperamental and some instruction on how to use it would help but once we figured it out was fine. Many short stay folks assumed it was broken. Itâs not. Need to buy your own detergent.
Communication could be a lot better. Just know what youâre getting before you go. Great time overall.

My review is not so much based on the apartment but on the way VRBO has presented it. To be honest, we feel duped by a misleading/false description. We are seasoned travelers and have never had to leave a negative review. We have also never booked through VRBO so donât know if this happens often. For this trip my husband and I traveled with a friend. Our search was for a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment and this apartment was presented as an option. Based on the location (excellent) and the outdoor space, we chose Caravelle 3. This is NOT a 2 bedroom apt. The photos of the bedroom were from different angles and appeared to show two different rooms...not so. The 2nd bed is the living room sofa bed. Obviously, there was nothing we could do at that point so we made the most of it. What was difficult was not being able to go into that space after a certain time or go to the kitchen for a snack if we were up later than our friend. The description states the apt. sleeps 8. We had fun trying to figure out where 8 people could fit. We finally realized that if you put 3 to a bed and added a wide cot that would be the only way. It was the least supplied we have ever seenâŠ3 bowls, 3 glasses, 3 wine glasses, one dishwasher tablet, a few tablespoons of dish detergent. We were staying for over 2 weeks so we washed dishes when we used them. When we were ready to go home, we left shampoo, body wash, hair spray and lotions for the next guests but I donât know if they ever saw them. The washer was fine but the dryer was often needing servicing. A resident told us it rarely works. For most people that wonât be a problem. On the plus side: the upgrades that were made gave larger bathrooms than we have seen in other parts of Italy/Europe. The outside deck was nice but the chairs are quite sticky and need a good cleaning. Our shirts stuck to the backs but wiping them down wasnât sufficient. Carefully review what you need in an apartment - this doesn't add up to the description.
We were very pleased with the building and apartment. It was new and clean (except for the terrace), and everything functioned properly - just as advertised. Our pre-stay questions were promptly and courteously answered. The location was perfect for our purposes, and we very much appreciated the accommodation of the early check-in. However, the skimping on basic amenities was definitely not appreciated. For a two-week stay, we were not offered a mid-stay housekeeping, and we were given only 1 set of bedding linens, 2 hand towels, 2 bath towels, 2 trash bags, a used kitchen sponge, no broom to sweep the unkept terrace, no paper towels, and no basic condiments such as salt, pepper, or sugar. In our view, this was not acceptable for a one-week stay, let alone two., and it diminished our view considerably of what would have otherwise been a highly-satisfactory experience.
