Room was generally clean and spacious. Pet friendly (including a large dog-park area in the rear) was a plus (subject of course to a daily pet fee). Staff were overall friendly... however, there is a STRANGE policy written on a whiteboard by the breakfast area that breakfast food is FOR DINE IN only; i.e. you cannot take eat your breakfast in your room (WHY? never in many many hotel stays have we encountered this policy - and it was not anything we agreed to!) Additionally, a staff member harassed us about this policy at breakfast time on two of the four days we stayed - NOT A PLEASANT WAY TO START the day. We understand if the objective was not to have dishes and utensils end up in the rooms but we did not bring dishes or utensils from the breakfast to our room. Will not stay in this hotel next time because of this. Breakfast fare was standard (scrambled eggs, alternating bacon or sausage, potatoes and refried beans... DIY waffles, dry cereal, yogurt etc.) Two other minor issues - bathroom sink had a slow drain (maintenance may be lagging) and entrance to room had a very light tinge of old cigarette smell as you walk in...

What did I like? I liked that level 2 EV charging was available. It would have been better if provided at no cost but it was pay by the hour. The property was quiet and my ground level room was acceptably quiet. I could hear the guests upstairs running around, but the noise stopped once their kids went to bed. The breakfast was what you would expect, but I liked how the dining and serving areas were kept clean. What did I dislike? My room was not perfectly clean. For example, I found someone's clipped hair shavings in my bathtub. Also, the staff who checked me in was a combination of rude and awkward. Her rudeness might have stemmed from robotically following procedures or because of poor choice of words, but it set a bad tone for my stay that was unnecessary. The rudeness was just to the level of irritation. For example, she asked me if I was a Best Western rewards member. When I replied that I was but didn't have my membership # handy, she responded that "it doesn't matter anyway since you booked through expedia." I did not reply but in my head I thought, why did you even ask me then? There were lots of little interactions like that throughout the process of checking in. That negative interaction did not have material impact on my stay, but all else being equal, I'd rather stay elsewhere as I expect (and am used to) better hospitality.

This was the best Best Western I have ever stayed in. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The manager stopped by at breakfast talking with guests about their days plan and offering littler bits of information about the area and how to get around.
