The lake was unreal and beautiful property. The staff was nice, informative and accommodating. The outdoor hot tub was amazing after a day of hiking. The only negative is that the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors talking. But we weren’t in our room much, so it wasn’t a huge deal. We are already planning a trip back!

We loved the setting on the quiet shores of Emerald Lake. Each cabin room has a view out over the small lake with mountains coming right to the shore.

Worth the trip

Location: There are lots of hikes around the lodge and the natural bridge overlook is on the way to the lodge. This is a great place to spend several days.
This rustic "elegant" lodge located on this beautiful aqua lake was quite a find. I would come back in a heartbeat. The room was nicely appointed with great pillows and down comforter and the wood burning fireplace that was all ready to light with just one match. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the lodge and even went back for carry out dessert to enjoy in front of our warm fire later that evening. The hike around the lake was right outside the door. This lodge is full of ambiance and character. That's what I look for in a place to stay. My pictures here of the lodge, lake and surrounding mountains are fantastic. If you are looking for TV, cell service, internet, this is NOT for you. If you are looking for peace and quite, beautiful scenery, romantic room and lodge, a sitting area to read a book, this IS for you.

Wonderful vacation.

Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: Clearer signs. They have an unusual parking system with a shuttle to the lodge. This was not clear in our reservation confirmation.
Location: Mountain lodge on a turquoise lake in the Canadian Rockies. All kinds of hiking. Canoes were also available. S
The Emerald Lake Lodge was great. A stunning location, excellent hiking and restaurants right on site.

COULD be fabulous

A beautiful lodge and gorgeous remote location. This could be THE "primo" property of the area, but needs some money for upgrades and attention to detail. The mattress was old and somewhat uncomfortable. Some things were upgraded, like the granite countertop in the tiny bathroom, with shiny silver faucets, but the pretty towel rack was hung very crooked and the hollow featureless doors had old cheap brass doorknobs. So you basically get a mixed bag here. The wood-burning fireplace in the room was lovely and the view from our 2nd story (top floor) room was incredible, although it appears that not all units have the same great view. Very, very quiet room and location. You park just a short ways from the lodge and use the house phone in this "welcome" building to call for a pick-up. The bathroom is this building, didn't have any soap dispenser, and was missing other basic items. Another couple had called for a pick-up, so we waited with them for awhile (it's probably a 3 minute ride to/from the lodge). Then two other couples arrived and we all waited. I called the house phone again, and said there were 4 couples waiting, and the driver said, "oh, I guess I better come on down now". Another thing to remember is that you are very remote here, no mini-frig, etc. in the room, so anything you might want, you better bring with you, or plan on walking to the central lodge. We had breakfast in the lovely lodge restaurant, but couldn't get decaf as they had just run out of decaf beans. Overall, it was a good experience, but left a little disappointed, because it could have been fabulous. Needs better mgmt. We preferred Chateau Lake Louise for overall experience.

Beautiful place!

This was our first time staying at an upscale hotel. We were relieved to find the atmosphere casual (as befits a clientele interested in hiking and other outdoor sports). The location and facilities were simply beautiful. We could have spent the whole time on our balcony soaking in the scenery! Food was very good (especially our breakfasts from the menu in the dining room) and quite reasonably priced, considering how few restaurants there are in the vicinity.\n\nWe really enjoyed our stay at Emerald Lake Lodge - it was a highlight of our trip.

Emerald Lake Lodge

The Emerald Lake Lodge is at the most beautiful lake in the world! Our room was perfect for our stay. Very comfortable with a wood burning fireplace and balcony to view the lake. Great hiking!

Breath taking!

Our next trip to the Canadian Rockies will definitely be at this lodge. It is beautiful, serene and the location suited us perfectly to go on some great adventures and experience lots of fun in the Rockies.
