Kitchen: Cook your own meals in a beautiful and bright, open kitchen. The newly renovated kitchen has a full-size fridge with water and ice dispenser, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, 12 cup coffee maker, electric kettle, blender, citrus juicer, and rice cooker. Enjoy your meals on the covered deck just outside the kitchen, at the indoor dining table, or at counter bar seating . The tap water at the house is provided by the county and is safe to drink.

Entertainment: A 70" big screen smart TV in the family room allows you to access your own Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ or other streaming accounts. A Nintendo Entertainment System Classic with 2 controllers and 30 preinstalled games is hooked up to this TV. The 2 queen bedrooms also have 32" smart TVs. Several board games, including Hawaiian Monopoly, are available for your use.

Recreation/Office: The house has a bonus office/yoga room with bay views. For working remotely, high speed internet, a sit/stand desk, ergonomic chair, monitor, USB keyboard, and USB mouse are provided. For yoga, 2 mats, blocks, bolsters, & a foam roller are available for your use. 2 boogie boards, 2 beach chairs, 2 camp chairs, 2 snorkels with masks, a cooler with ice pack, and beach towels are available for your use at nearby beach parks. The covered lanai also has a ping pong table and pull-up bar.

Bedrooms: Each bedroom has a dresser, a ceiling fan, bedside lamps & outlets, a closet, a mirror, and a luggage rack. All windows have blinds or curtains for privacy. All beds have medium firm foam mattresses, 100% cotton sheets, and hypoallergenic bedding and pillows.

Climate: Hilo is a lush, tropical location. We have designed the home to allow enjoyment of the outdoors rain or shine with a covered patio, a covered dining deck, and an uncovered deck to enjoy the views. Like most homes in the area, we do not have A/C, but all windows and sliding doors have screens to allow airflow through the house. Our hilltop location allows for cooler breezes to help keep the home cool. The living room, family room, office/yoga room, and all 3 bedrooms also have ceiling fans.

Amenities for Kids and Babies: We welcome families with children and babies (keikis). A travel crib, inflatable bed rails, a high chair, step stools, kids' dishes/utensils, games, puzzles, books, and toys are all available upon request. The fully-fenced garden has a ping pong table, kids’ climbing wall, and playhouse. Please note: there are 2 sets of stairs that are not able to be blocked by a child gate, so please keep this in mind if your little ones are not comfortable with stairs. The downstairs family room has a door that can block access to the stairs and provide a closed space for little ones to play. The sliding glass doors are equipped with safety locks.

You will have access to the entire 3 bedroom & 2 bathroom home, including the following:
- a 2-car garage with internal access to the house (convenient on rainy days)
- a covered lanai with patio seating and ping pong table
- an expansive upstairs deck with views of Mauna Kea and Hilo Bay and patio seating
- a covered deck just off the kitchen with an outdoor dining table
- a fully-fenced garden with fruit trees including jabong/pomelo, lime, lemon, and tangerine (please help yourself to what's ripe) and many other tropical flowers and plants.

The house has 3 levels:

On the middle level, you can enjoy:
- open living room, kitchen, and dining area
- desk nook

On the downstairs level you can enjoy:
- downstairs family room with a 70" smart TV, twin-sized day bed, and access to the garage and lanai
- laundry room with washer, dryer, utility sink, and drying rack
- downstairs bedroom with queen bed and access to lanai
- en-suite bathroom with double vanity and shower

On the upper level you can enjoy:
- upstairs bedroom with queen bed, access to the upstairs deck, views of Hilo Bay
- upstairs bedroom with a twin bed and a full bed, views of Hilo Bay and Mauna Kea
- bathroom with shower
- office/yoga room with access to the upstairs deck

The front door and garage entry door both have code locks on them. 2 garage clickers will be available for your use during your stay.

TROPICAL WILDLIFE AND NOISES:
- Hilo's lush rainforest climate provides many great things, however it also means there might be more insects here than you are used to. Screens are provided on all windows and sliding doors, but sometimes insects will make their way inside the home. To make the indoors less inviting to insects, keep all food stored in air-tight containers and keep counters and tables clear of crumbs and dirty dishes. A bug zapper is available for your use if desired.
- The occasional gecko or anole lizard might find its way into the house. These are harmless. Please treat them gently if you choose to move them outside.
- You will likely hear the gentle chirping sounds of coqui frogs at night and birds during the daytime. Hopefully you will find these noises soothing, but we’ll have some ear plugs available in case you need them (or pack your own).
- The next door neighbors have dogs that you might occasionally hear barking when they are out in the neighbors’ fenced yard.
