Some of the staff were less than friendly with athe rare occasion. Someone pleasant would be ok shift. It's a lot experience as much aloha, as one would hope for. Overall, great location appreciated the complimentary bike, though.They do need maintenance. Close and easy access to the beach and food trucks. As well as cooking location for shopping

Perfect hotel for Kalalau hikers

This hotel is perfect they stored our bags while we hiked the Kalalau trail, also they have lots of propane from previous hikers, call them to ask to hold one for you in you don't have time to shop before your trip.

Loved the view from the patio. Disappointed that our twin queens room didn't have the in room jacuzzi ,which was a major reason for us choosing this property. The first 3 days staying there 2 rooms south of us there was local traffic in and out and dope smoking wafting our way. The same situation the last 3 nights from 1 room north. These were all beach level, I would not have liked my kids staying in that environment.

While this hotel is on the older side and needs some updates, the location and staff make it a great place to stay. I love that I was able to borrow a bike and ride up and down the beach path. Beautiful!

We loved the family vibe and old charm and especially the ocean view, the wild chickens and the cat that chased them BUT the bed in our ground floor King Ocean View room was terrible. One side sloped down terribly and was very uncomfortable. Replace the mattress, and remodel the bathroom (tub has badly patched holes, perhaps from former jacuzzi, and toilet is so low that it was low for me at 5’ 2” and crazy for my husband at 6’ 4”. Year out the tub and retile just as a shower, replace shower fixtures and put in a new comfort height toilet and it will be 5 star rating. Staff recommendations for restaurants and the fresh banana bread were awesome.

Super friendly, helpful staff, immediate positive response to any issue. The property itself and our room was wonderful. It was perfect for us. The downside was nightly noise from roadwork going on all night during weekdays. Some room renovations going on below us was on the noisy side as well. However, we would gladly come back and stay again. We also really enjoyed being in the historic town of Kapaa and all it had to offer. The Coral Reef was a great home base when we ventured to all the other areas in Kauai we visited. Thank you so much to everyone there for all the kindness you showed us during our 8 day stay.❤️

Simple basic hotel no fuss access to the hotel is through a code given to you so no need to deal with check in. Loved our stay because of how simple it was to just go to ur room and be unbothered by anyone.
