Room was smallest of all our japanese hotels, struggled to put the one suitcase anywhere, luckily we didnt have two. Metro is about a 10mins walk away.

Great stay!

Very good hotel. It was spacious rooms and had a safe and area to hang clothes. Toilets were great. Only a slight smell to the room, but we think it was from the water. Amenities were great! Bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff was outstanding. We were able to have our luggage sent here and send it to our next hotel as well. Would stay here again.

It was decent. rooms very small, we had 2 medium sized suitcases and could not leave them open and still open the door / walk around the room. Otherwise stay was OK. close to train station.

We encountered some staff that were really great and some who were not so great or didn't know anything. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and took care of things for us. I also respect that they are trying to be eco-friendly by only cleaning rooms every three or four days, but when you're only staying four days, it doesn't really make sense to have your room cleaned the day before you leave.

omotenashi-nashi / lack of hospitality

The location was good and the room was fine though very small. However, we arrived past 2pm and asked to check in and were told that check in from 3pm and were flat out refused to check in earlier and told that this information is on the website. Sure, I understand that a hotel has policies but it showed not a modicum of ‘omotenashi’ hospitality to not even try to solve the problem. Surely it makes no real difference to let someone go up to their room 30min early if the room is ready anyway. While the room itself was ostensibly clean, I did find hair on the bed and in the bathroom. Overall, with the many options in Kyoto, I would not stay here again.

The hotel is more spacious than the other places ive been to in tokyo and osaka. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and amenities were convenient. However, the problems we've experienced were their tv options. We couldnt mirror our phones to the tv or log into our netflix, etc. In the osaka hotel they had a cool function where we could view the status of the laundry facilites. I think that if they fixed the tv issues that would complete this whole experience. Other than that they offer 100 yen for hot coffee, a water dispenser and other things like bath towel, toothbrush toothpaste, cotton pads etc.
