Great location!

Just a few minutes walk from Nijo-jo Castle, Manga Museum, Imperial Residence, Museum of Kyoto, Kaleidoscope Museum and the shops of Sanjo-dori. Small but comfortable room.

Awesome hotel - location and breakfast

This hotel was right by transit, a nice market, several convenience stores, etc. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING.

This is my 2nd time stay in this hotel. It is a short walk from Nijo Castle.I enjoyed their Japanese style breakfast,simple but delicious. This is a typical business hotel ,ideal for solo travalers.

Convenient location

Stayed here for about one week . Asked for a non smoking room . They had one available for an extra charge . Wasn’t able to sleep as it was right under a compressor . It seems like the hotel knew about the problem . Asked for the smoking room again and wasn’t refunded as I was told that room was bigger ? Service in Kyoto in those hotels is going down as there is a big shortage . Too bad as it is much better in the rest of Japan .

Hotel is located on a decent and quiet neighborhood. Room is small but clean and functioning.Hotel offering Japenese style breakfast. Hotel guests mostly are Japenese. It s front door have buses going to Kyoto Station and Gion. Close to Nijo Castle.

Very nice hotel and great location

It's very close to NIjo castel (5 min) as well as the center of the city (25 min) walk. They also have a free parking space which is really great

Great hotel near Nijo Castle

We stayed 1 night at Horikawa Inn for an overnight visit from Osaka. Hotel was located 1.5 blocks from the Tozai Subway Line (Nijojo Mae Station). 2 blocks from Nijo Castle and a lot of small shops and restaurants nearby. Overall a great value and a good free breakfast.

Kyoto Horikawa Inn is at the center of the Kyoto

Hotel staff are very nice and try hard to help and we can get what we were asking although English is not good enough What they should have let people know is that there is a #9 bus directly come from the train station have a stop right in front of their door (220yen/person). We found it on the way out but had to walk > 10minutes from subway station (210yen/person)with map when we went in.

Conveniently located, clean place and staff very helpful despite their poor English, we succeeded in communicating with the help of my iPhone translation app. Very small room but very clean as it is standard in Japan.

初めて堀川三条に宿泊しましたが バス停、地下鉄も近く、三条会商店街も目の前で味わい深いお店が連なり、ホテルからもらえる銭湯券で毎日ここを通り銭湯通いが楽しかった。そして何よりホテルのスタッフの皆さんが感じよく また泊まりたいと思いました。朝ごはんもおばんざい美味しかったです
