Our stay was perfect from check in to checking out. The food on was excellent at the Lakeside Inn. The grounds were beautiful. Las Palmas (Cuban restaurant was great!). Would NOT recommend Olive Italian, sent food back. We toured in a golf cart Mt Dora and "Rooster" was great! Very knowledgeable. We can't wait to return.

Had a great time

Very nice antique hotel from the 1880’s. It’s really charming and in a central location to downtown. Easy to find restaurants, and the morning breakfast was really good and not crazy expensive.

The property is 140 years old and situated on lake Dora. Beautiful views of the lake from the main building porch and other areas on the property. We refused the first room in the main building because of the mold spell and dingy feeling the room gave us. The second room in an outer building was better, but not by much. Good luck trying to get the water temperature regulated in the shower. The hotel is just worn out. It could be a real nice old hotel, but the maintenance is of very poor quality. It’s in need of a major renovation which could be done keeping the historic look in mind.

Miserable Sleeping Experience

Bates Motel! I knew the place was old and not updated, but it was the worst. There isn’t anything nice I can say about. The room was horrid, absolutely no sound proofing…it’s a rickety old house and that’s exactly what it is. You hear everyone walking, coughing, shutting doors, flushing toilets, showering…as if you’re in the same house together. The shower is also like staying in a rickety old house, extremely small and scalding hot or ice cold. The location is in a neighborhood dogs barking, lawns being mowed, people working in their garage…it’s LOUD! The WiFi doesn’t work, the ice machine was broken, the toilet doesn’t flush (old house), the TV is extremely small and no apps, the furniture is old…not in a cute historic way, in a they found this on the side of the road way. The AC NEVER GETS COLD! The windows just have blinds so at sunrise YOU’RE UP! So if you like a place that’s hot, loud, and an absolute miserable sleep…stay here.
