This was our first stay here and I loved the location. Easy to walk to restaurants and the beach. Dukes is a great option for dinner. We love walking on the beach early in the morning. Banyon Harbor Resort is a short drive from the airport and located near grocery stores. The resort is centrally located so day drives can be easily done to many locations. We had a very nice stay.

Condo was clean, and no significant deficiency in level of maintenance, but felt a bit dated. Views of Ho’opu are great, but the harbor area directly in front of the resort includes the cargo reception area, so a bit industrial. All in all: the location is super convenient, the staff friendly, and it worked well for us, but not a luxe accommodation that some might anticipate when they think Kauai.

Central location . Amenities were just enough for our stay. Home was clean. We were accommodated on the 2nd floor - 3 stair cases to climb though so be mindful if you are traveling with an elderly. Also, the owner downstairs was a bit of nuisance because at our last day when we decided to stay home and relax, he kept complaining of “hearing foot steps” the Resort management must have called me at least 3 times asking to “walk lighter” and then sent some one physically at the accommodation as well!! Per one of the staff members the guy was crazy and he does it every time. We did complain about the multiple calls and the resort manager apologized and refund us the amenities cost. Overall a good stay. Beside the crazy owner downstairs.

Banyan review Stayed 7 days Monday to Monday. Checked in Monday. Lukewarm reception from front desk. Not much of a welcoming aloha feeling from any staff members. Unit was clean but outdated. Shower curtain did not reach bottom of pan so whenever we showered, water would just spill out and flood the bathroom floor. Bathroom fan is noisier than a crying baby. Insulation is bad. We can hear every footstep from the unit above and every flush of the toilet. Their housekeeping schedule to service our unit was scheduled for Saturday. I requested an earlier date ( like Wednesday, Thursday or Friday ). The staff told me the schedule is computer generated so they couldn’t make any changes for me. In other words “ too bad, we’re not here to accommodate the guest request, it is what it is, deal with it” attitude. Anyway, housekeeping finally showed up Saturday afternoon and the room attendant did an excellent job. Kudos to her. So now they refreshed our unit after having stayed 5 days when we’re about to check out in 2 days. Not an ideal cleaning schedule in my opinion. Location was excellent. Swimming pool sits atop the hill with great view of area. Gets windy and leaves get blown into pool. Not heated as advertised. Close to everything we wanted to do or see. Walking distance to beach, short driving distances to Costco, malls, farmers markets, and other attractions. Mandatory daily resort fee seems unreasonable for the (lack) of services offered to us.

Room was great for 2 couples ... staff was very accommodating. We had a kitchen, living room, air conditioning and fans as well as washer and dryer. Lots of parking, we used the pickleball equipment and court lots as well as the pool. We also saw ships coming into port across the street. Building E is a bit noisy with traffic.

I always stay at this resort when I come to Lihue for work. The rooms are pleasant and well equipped, there is a washer-dryer, and the place is within walking distance to a beautiful beach, shops, and restaurants.
