The leasing & maintenance of the apartment is managed by a company. The keys have to be picked up at a corporate office which wasn't a big deal, but the lady checking us in insisted on us paying the balance in cash. After a long trip I was not going to search for an ATM especially when booked through VRBO, and should be automatically charged to my CC. That got cleared up after a few phone calls.
Second incident, the hot water did not come through. I texted, emailed but with no response, I walked back to the office and showed pictures of the boiler. After 10 mins of looking at manuals, it was the switches had to go to the left for hot water. Something this basic should have been done before a guest arrives.
Thirdly, on our second day the Wifi stopped working. After many emails, texts, they sent someone on the 4th day to basically state it did not work.
Despite these challenges, the apartment is clean and in a quiet location. Not sure if A/c worked as we switched it on briefly
but there wasn't any sound or cold air. We didn't raise this as it was cool in Lisbon when we were there.
