My 1st english breakfast and it was good. Staff was polite and helpful. Really clean.
Only issue was size of bath was tiny.
Great location near Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Hotel was clean, staff were great. Rooms are small but plenty of hot water. No AC and it was warm out so a bit uncomfortable at night. Nice little bar and great breakfast.

The hotel had no AC and did not offer to provide a fan to keep room cooler.

Staff are really friendly but hotel is very dated. We stayed on one of hottest nights and it does say no ac but it’s really not bearable on the hottest nights without ac. Breakfast was great. Would stay again but not in summer.

Great location, good service bit dated decor.
Great location, lovely building, clean room but dated decor. Always surprises me how independent hotels in London, although well located, don’t update the rooms and bathrooms. Makes me feel like going back in time. Very pleasant stay though.
Excellent location, near paddington station and Hyde park. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Always said hello, such a small thing but it was much appreciated. Rooms were very clean, and comfortable. A big window that you could open, and a fan already in the room. Would definitely stay again.
Friendly & efficient staff. Good location and good breakfast. Rooms a bit dated & twin beds need to be a bit wider. Old building so no AC but fan provided and grateful for elevator.

Location, location, location!
Great location, reasonable price. We were going to a gig in Hyde Park and didn’t want to have to worry about getting home afterwards, Room was basic…..but was asleep most of the time anyway!
No complimentary drinking water but a kettle with sachets of milk and T-bags. On bringing water back to my room and turning on the kettle it tripped the electricity in my room so I wasn’t able to avail myself of the small fan (there was no ac due to the age of the building). Of course I wasn’t sure as to the cause of the electricity cut until it came back and I tried boiling a kettle again with the same result. Then it became clear. Perhaps it’s the hotel’s strategy to keep the electric bills down - no complimentary drinking water and flip switches set to turn off the electricity for 1 hour if one has the audacity to attempt to boil the kettle with water from a nearby store - of which there are a plentiful supply. Take note if you have medication to take, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee (and who doesn’t?) or simply wants to stay hydrated. The room could have doubled as a sauna but the air conditioning was provided courtesy of a wonderfully functional Victorian sash window which I admittedly was surprised to find wasn’t bolted shut in this age of health and safety. Honourable mention must go to the elevator - quite possible the slowest elevator I have ever experienced. Having checked in, and desirous of a shower and a cup of tea (little did I know) the elevator, which was on floor 3, visited every intermediate floor, including the basement, (breakfast had long ceased being served) before returning to the reception. The back of the bar however is the fire escape stairway.
Weve stayed before so knew what to expect. This is a lovely hotel close to Hyde Park with lovely staff and facilities. Will definitely come back!

The hotel is in a very good location, the staff was great but there is no A/C, they only provide a small fan for very hot nights. The room windows cannot be entirely open, and no windows in the bathroom. The bedrooms are old and outdated. You could stay at the Hilton next to Paddington station and pay the same price for a room with AC. I will do that next time.
Booked a single room but did not expect the room to be so small. Pictures on website very deceiving.
Went out for a walk and came back o ask about ungrades. Hotels.com showed they still had 1 double, a junior suite and another room available.
Reception Told me there were no options. I re asked as I wasn’t sure if they thought I was asking for free but again was told no rooms.
Didn’t try breakfast, no water in the room, bed covering wasn’t great either, seemed like one you would find in an old caravan.
Understand I haven’t paid for the Ritz but it was very dated.

Good Value Stay in a Convenient Location
The location is quite good, with easy access to attractions and public transport. The breakfast was excellent—fresh and satisfying. My room didn’t have much of a view and lacked air conditioning, which was a downside during this particularly hot month. Still, considering the price, it was a solid and worthwhile stay.
I stayed for 7 nights recently. For the price (over $2000 Australian dollars!) I was disappointed, especially as I’d read so many positive reviews on Expedia.
The breakfast was ordinary so I found a better cafe nearby with coffee and pastries.
The room was adequate (I expected dated from reviews) but the main issue was no aircon - just a little fan.
I was staying alone and was woken one afternoon from a nap by a man opening my door which was very disconcerting. Staff apologised and told me it was the handyman. Perhaps the hotel should revisit these processes?
Also the hotel had signs everywhere asking not to bring hot food into rooms - I think this is harsh as in all hotels that I know of this is allowed.
On the positive side two afternoon staff were very professional and welcoming - Mohammed & Hadi. I wish them both well.
The quality was very poor. Not as expected at all. Rooms and bathrooms felt like staying in a college dorm but not as nice. Based on ratings and pictures I had high hopes for this hotel and was truly shocked.
