I do not recommend this hotel, nor would I ever consider staying in any Thistle hotel again. They pulled a bait & switch on our room. If we had been staying longer than one night we would have walked out and found another hotel.

We appreciated that we could check in early. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful with recommendations for dinner. The room was spacious and clean and the air conditioning was a great addition. Super convenient to Hyde Park.

Pictures seemingly leave out the hotel is above a Shell station and the garden view includes a lovely view of the gas station. Room wasn’t clean, shower faucet dripped, carpet was stained, drapes were covered in dust and stains. This was a poor choice of a place to stay.

Was given a room that was unrentable

We were offered an upgrade then told it had a faulty a/c. I rejected it and said I preferred a standard room with working a/c as It was 30• outside. I was then assured it had been sorted. It hadn’t been sorted and had a sleepless a night due to the heat.

We've stayed at the Thistle a few times before and we like it's convenience and general comfort. Would have rated it higher but the air conditioning was not really that cool and we slept on top of our duvets.

Highly recommend!

Some impressions, in somewhat random order....We greatly appreciated the a/c during a heat wave in London! Comfy, spacious room in a fabulous and convenient location. We sometimes had to wait for staff at front desk (short-staffed), but they were always friendly and helpful. We were able to stow luggage ahead of check-in for no additional fee. I was pleasantly surprised to not have to ever wait too long for the (tiny) elevators. Love the Nespresso machine and bottled water in the room, too!

We only booked this hotel due to proximity of the ELO gig at Hyde Park. After the cancellation was announced we tried to cancel the booking but they refused to cancel or move the booking to another date. I know we could have had a refundable rate but firstly the price of the hotel was inflated solely due to The Hyde Park events and surely some common sense should be used. Premier inn have a cancellation policy for their hotels next to arenas and if the hotel inflates prices due to their positional advantage then surely they should do the honourable thing and allow us to move the dates in the event of cancellation. Consequently we have had 2 nights in an expensive hotel making last minute plans to fill in the time.

Great location, lovely staff, but not clean

Check in was wonderful, friendly, engaging staff. Very easy. The location for us was great bordering Hyde Park. When we got up to the room, someone had cut their toe nails and left the remains all over the floor, so clearly the clean routine was not great. It was sorted while we were out. Disappointingly I had emailed the hotel before regarding our stay and they chose to ignore the email.
