Reservation was for the Residences. Not honoured. Had to say in time share Encantada instead. Confusion. Checkin took 3 hours..
Staff put us in worst possible room-open to Tequila bar.
Very very unhappy with Expedia as this was not what reservation promised.
The villa and property grounds were beautiful, the food was not good and at and the service wasnât must better... slow service and even slower butler, which we paid for.. we saw him one time
The home was amazing. Very clean and you have everything you need. The cleaning crew and your assigned butler ensures you have everything you need to enjoy the days there. they check with you constantly. You don't even want to leave the house - it is just so fun and perfect for families.
Enjoyed the villa/residence very much. Layout, view, and bathrooms were GREAT! Wine fridge never worked, a few maintenance items needed and tried to take care of. Used Butler for groceries but would recommend going to WalMart or Costco instead. The groceries they provide are from the mini mart at the hotel store so not a great selection. Loved mostly hanging at the villa which was two story with great views from upstairs deck. Downstairs patio had a great pool, spa, BBQ bar and a firepit! Plus eight chaise lounges, chairs, etc. The downstairs media area had a sectional and TV but we honestly never turned on the TV. Butler will arrange shuttles to downtown very easily, but adds up with 8people. Plan on $40 for 8pp each way. Also most pools are awesome and have a swim up pool bar which was fun. Some had volleyball, bocce, ping pong, etc. and the best pool was the infinity pool which also had amazing views!
We had a splendid vacation at The Residences at Hacienda Encantada and I would love to give it a top review. Unfortunately, after paying in advance the full amount through Expedia, the hotel also charged the full amount at the end of our stay, saying the Expedia amount was a "deposit," which would be returned to us. Calls to the hotel result in being transferred from dept. to dept., then left on hold indefinitely. Just off the phone with Expedia (48-minute call). They will (once again) refer the case to a refund team. Wow.
The residences at Hacienda Encantada are 5 star. Private pool - outdoor gourmet kitchen and beautifully decorated. Panoramic view of the ocean. The best part of the stay is the personal host/concierge. The hotel staff is pretty good, but the personal host assigned to us was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He was available 24 hours a day and always willing to go out of his way. It made our trip much more enjoyable.
First let me say that our Villa was perfect in every way. My husband and I took our 3 children and the Villa was perfect for our family. The only complaint was the horrible service we received from our Concierge. We each received a door bracelet upon arrival. Only 2 worked. Our Concierge said he would take care of it and never did. When we later asked, his response was "Oh they never came??" But still we stayed with only 2 working bracelets. On the second night, we had issues with the hot tub and the thermostat inside the villa. We even slept an entire night with no A/C. Our concierge never came back to check on us for 2 days. We called, they sent maintenance that next morning to adjust. My husband saw our concierge at the Villa next to us and asked if he could come and show us how to work the thermostat correctly. He said ok and then drove off 3 mins later. He never came. We were very frustrated at that point. We called for a shuttle to take us to the lobby, it took over an hour. We felt as if we were a burden to our Concierge. We almost let it ruin our vacation but decided to enjoy our family time in spite of. Before we checked out, my husband wanted to buy a hat he saw at one of the vendor stands near the resort pool. Our concierge drove him there, my husband asked if he would wait and he said sure! When my husband briefly returned he was gone. Just horrible service. I have never written a bad review but I had to voice my concern with our stay. :(
Beautiful location and we stayed in one of the Villa's which is gorgeous. View was amazing and the condo itself was spacious and well divided. It was a 3 bedroom (4 bed) condo BUT they charge per person, which when we arrived with 6 pp they charged us for 2 extra pp (I had originally booked for 4 and had 2 friends join last minute) but didn't think we had to notify the hotel since technically accommodates up to 8 pp. Also you must pay for wifi and get codes/PW for EVERY person, you can't have one that works for all devices. They could only give out 2 per call so we had to call several times to get a code/PW for each person...weird!!! The kitchen was not well stocked, we like to cook and it was not easy to have what we needed, the dishwasher did not work well so we had to run the cycle several times to finally be clean. I needed a crib and of course was charged daily for that as well. I've never been to a hotel that charges for a crib and I've ordered several at different hotels.
The staff was friendly but it was just hard to overlook the cons when you pay top dollar for a villa.....
