Airy Spacious Flat in the heart of Cosmopolitan West Didsbury

Cosy flat with high ceilings and big windows right on Burton Road in the heart of one of Manchester's trendiest neighbourhoods. West Didsbury is a hot spot for food and drink lovers with a wide array of restaurants and bars to choose from. The flat is close to Manchester city centre and all the universities. Walking distance to the Christies Hospital, Didsbury Village and Withington with plenty amenities on your doorstep. The tram/bus stop a few minutes walk away, take you directly into the city centre. For Nature lovers we have lots of lovely parks within walking distance... For runners, walkers and hikers and bikers.. the gorgeous Mersy River with its many trails and routes is just a 6-7 min walk away.

The Space

Light and airy 1 bedroom flat with high ceilings and tall windows with double glazing which keeps things nice and quiet. Comes with a cosy living space with dining for 2. Big windows all around the flat give you a lovely green view. Clean self contained, well equipped kitchen. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and ample storage for clothes and luggage. The perfect location for experiencing cosmopolitan West Didsbury with the boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. Bathroom has a bath and shower.

For families we are happy to put up a cot and or air mattress at your request.

The Neighbourhood

Burton House is on Burton Road in West Didsbury. One of the most sought after and vibrant Manchester locations to live in.

With over ten top restaurants and cafes, including Sunday Brunch, Celebrity Chef Simon Rimmer's Vegetarian restaurant, Greens, The Lime Tree, a multi award winning restaurant in the top ten of Manchester restaurants, Picolinos and The Rose Garden. For the early risers that like to head out to grab a paper and find a breakfast spot, look no further than the Bakery just a few doors down... they have a wide array of breakfasts to suit every taste.

Just outside your front door on Burton Road, there are also some beautiful furniture, jewellery,gift shops, designer clothing and vintage clothing stores.

Burton Road boasts five vibrant late night bars all individual, with special ales and cocktails to choose from. Plus the infamous Metropolitan Pub is less than a 20 second walk away.

If you need more, there is a metro line that can take you to Didsbury Village (East Didsbury) for more shops, bars and cafes that are similar to West Didsbury. The Burton Road stop is a 3 minutes walk from Burton House.

It is also a ÂŁ10, 10 minute, taxi ride into the city centre, or again The Metro can take you there in 20 minutes.

Manchester Airport is less than 10 minutes away in clear traffic.
Manchester United is only 15 minutes away as is Manchester City.
The Trafford Centre is a short 15 minute where you will find all kinds of stores all with free parking.
Liverpool is 25 miles.

Getting Around

For those without a car, we are just a few steps from the bus-stop, 3 mins walk away from the tram and a 10 mins taxi drive from Manchester Airport and Manchester City Centre.

Other Things to Note

Apartment is located on the first floor of a Victorian conversion accessible by stairs. Please bear this in mind when booking.

L'appartement est spacieux et lumineux quand le soleil est au rendez-vous ! Lol ! Un peu bruyant les soirées de fin de semaines avec les bars et pubs dans la rue. En rÚgle générale je conseille ce logement.

Buzzing

To echo other reviews, the communal hall and landing was shoddy. The apartment was clean, but needs some TLC in places. Personally, we would have liked a blind at the kitchen window, but appreciate the fact that it is not our property. Surprisingly quiet overnight despite being on a busy road. Off street parking a bonus. Very easy access to transport links, buses, trams. Easy to travel to the Etihad Campus for a concert.The local environment was 'buzzing' with people socialising inside as well as outside the many eateries and bars. Despite us being 'of more mature years,' we felt incredibly comfortable in the location.

comfortable flat in great location

The flat had everything we needed, parking was especially good, great size parking ideal for our car which is very long. Great location, restaurants, bars, pubs on the doorstep. The metro was a short walk away. Host could not have been more helpful. We'll definitely stay here again when we next visit the area.

Lovely Neighborhood Easy Access to Manchester

This was the second time we stayed at Burton House. Last year we were in Flat A (ground floor) and this year we were in Flat B (first floor). The flat has easy access to the center of Manchester by bus or tram. There is Coop supermarket down the road one block and lots of restaurants in the area. The property is well maintained and Caroline is a wonderful host who is easy to reach if you need to communicate with her. The flat itself is clean and well kitted out if you plan on doing some self-catering (as we do). Flat B (although a bit smaller than Flat A) is very comfortable for two people. There are windows on three sides of the flat, so it is both bright and airy. We will be staying with Caroline again then next time we go to MCR.

Great Location, Great Price

We enjoyed our stay at the Burton Rd flat. There is easy access to restaurants and amenities along Burton Rd and easy transport via the tram to get into Manchester. Nice little place with all of the necessities for a longer duration stay.

Stay within a village

Coming home to Manchester is always a delight.. seeing family and friends. I have always stayed with family but this visit I wanted to have a different experience.. The flat on Burton Road was perfect for that... The flat had everything I needed and the village as I call it had everything too... Cafes, shops, different eateries, and wonderful people I met added to the experience. It was close to all that I wanted to see and do... I would definitely stay here again and enjoy the village and all it had to offer... Thank you

A very enjoyable stay

The flat was well-suited to our needs. Plenty of space, comfortable furniture, well-equipped kitchen. And as advertised, the well-insulated windows made the flat totally quiet despite being located on a bustling street! We enjoyed lively Burton Road with its friendly atmosphere and diverse restaurants and shops, very much changed since we lived in the area two decades ago. Caroline was helpful and available and even contacted us mid-stay to find out if we were enjoying our visit. The off-street parking was invaluable in such as busy area.
