Dangerous building

The staircase is literally about to collapse. The stairs are not level and the stair structure has moved away from the walls. The stair structure is cracked and loose. Seriously, the building needs to be assessed as it looks extremely dangerous. It looks like the entire staircase could collapse at any moment. If it does, anyone on it will probably be killed. I have reported this to Manchester Building Control.

2 nights stay

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, great location for being close to shops, restaurants and transport. Our room was on the 2nd floor and we didn’t hear any noise at night. We booked a standard room which was a good size. Breakfast was continental and then you can choose something from the menu which is freshly cooked. We had a full English the first day and pancakes the 2nd. Great choice of breakfast. Staff were friendly and as we were there for the Oasis gig, having Liam and Noel in reception was brilliant! We would stay at this hotel if we visit Manchester again.

All round pleasant stay - very happy

Nice, comfortable stay. If you buy the breakfast in advance it's a bargain. You're allowed one "menu" breakfast (full English/ pancakes/ porridge /scrambled eggs on toast/etc) which is cooked to order plus unlimited from the buffet (cereal, yoghurt, pastries, fruit, toast, ham, cheese, etc) which is a good balance between generosity and waste reduction. Beds were comfy enough. It was very hot the weekend we were there, but a fan was provided and the cold water was able to get very cold which was a relief. Rooms have a kettle but no fridge. Staff were always very helpful and kind. We were able to keep all our bags there all day after checking out for just £5 for the whole lot which I thought was very reasonable. We also turned up at 10pm the day we were supposed to leave needing another night's stay because the trains had all gone wrong. Needless to say we were exhausted and stressed but the staff member on the desk was incredibly helpful. Because of the extra day, we tried both the standard double and the standard twin rooms - both very pleasant. It's also a very reasonable price for the location - just a 10-15 minute walk to Piccadilly station and similar or even less to Sackville Gardens where our event was. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to next year.

Excellent Hotel to stay at.

When we visit Manchester, the Gardens Hotel is our first choice hotel.The staff are always helpful, accommodating and professional. The hotel is ideally situated, very clean and the breakfasts are lovely. The hotel is excellent value for money. We don't ever see ourselves staying at any other hotel in Manchester, while the Gardens Hotel is available.

Mattress and Stockings

Well i whened around the side of window and court myself on a about 2in spring sticking of the mattress and court my £25 seamed stockings which i haven't even wear out so that wasn't a good start to the night. I shall not being using this hotel again, That's not to say they did change the mattress soon as i reported it that help with my stocking's

we had a great time in Manchester. the location of the hotel was excellent. the room was clean and the room was serviced regularly. the morning breakfast was excellent as was the breakfast service staff, who was very polite and friendly.

Saw our room and just left.

We checked in, went to our room and turned around instantly. The room had no windows, ripped carpets, bulging walls, and light switches that didn’t work. The only light in the room was a leaning floor lamp and the “ac” mentioned in the listing was a small desk fan that didn’t even oscillate. There was a prominent smell throughout the hotel and bad vibes. Both my friend and I felt very unsafe and we decided we had to leave and not stay the night. It’s a shame that there was no refund issued.
