I liked the service I received from all the staff and keeping to the booking and giving me the room I booked. This is a very big deal. I have had experiences where I got a different type of room at check-in than the one booked, during my previous travels. Therefore this is a gerat concern for me. Particularly Mr Carro, Ashanti and David at the reception were very helpful during our stay. The cleaning and other staff in the building were very courteous, smiled and greeted us whenever they saw us. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Our son booked a luxery hotel nearby spending four times more and did not have a Microwave, Refregirator or even a coffee machine in the room. They had a few paper cups. Our room had glasses and real coffee mugs! Fantastic! The only negative was the four ladies who occupied a table individually at the lobby from time to time and tried to push us to enroll in some kind of Time Share deal and go spend several hours at a nearby Marriott. The problem was that each one of them did not know that the others spoke to us already. This became a nuisance and a joke. May I suggest keeping a list of the guests and marking the response so that each of them are aware who the others spoke to and the response.

A Wonderful Surprise

The title says it all and that's no hype. Our room was very comfortable, well appointed and clean. The only thing that was missing were bathrobes. The hotel is in the heart of where the action is. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a view of the park, ocean and the activity on the sidewalk below. The people energy was great! The staff, great! Complimentary bikes, great! Beach stuff, great! We had a wonderful experience.

Great location reasonable price

Pros: Close restaurants, location, walking distance or short cab ride to bars
The hotel is in a great location. The beach is just across the street, the hotel provides beach towels, and some beach chairs (first come first serve). If you are looking for a place in the heart of the action but without club music pumping until 3am outside your hotel, this is a great place. It is within walking distance of everything. For the room itself, the carpet is starting to show some age. Each room has a kithenette, small refrigerator, sofa, two chairs and a balcony. Rooms either face an alley toward Collins Ave, or they face Ocean Drive. They have a nice roof toop terrace which is a great place to kick back before hitting heading out for the night. La Sandwhicherie is a block away which is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat that is fast and affordable. It is an open air place and always draws a crowd. You should know that they add an $18 fee for the "free happy hour and breakfast". The again, for a few beers or glasses of wine on the rooftop in the evening for $18 is pretty cheap for South Beach. The breakfast is continental (muffins, bagels, etc.).
