The wi-fi is slow and sporadic. We had to go to nearby bar for wi-fi after no service for 6 hours. Also the power would often go out. The beds are not comfortable and the pillows are quite poor. My biggest disappointment however was the beach chairs. They are not the chairs featured in the hotel photos. They are old, unfinished wooden slat style, with boards or support boards missing, and had nails protruding. The owner and staff otherwise promptly dealt with issues as they arose. We did not feel we got the value for the amount we paid for our stay.
This is a small hotel run by a Jamaican family. The folks are pleasant and helpful and the exterior of the buildings, porches, and the grounds are very nice.
The rooms are adequate but would not satisfy a picky person since the furnishings & mattresses are older, the bathroom floor wasn't super clean and the kitchenette is lacking. (There is a small fridge, a two burner countertop "stove" and a sink. But there were very few dishes and cookware.)
The breakfast served in a pretty setting is tasty and the price is reasonable.
The pool is pretty and clean with a great view of the mountains.
Small convenience type groceries and restaurants are numerous nearby.
The beach can be reached across the street and down a sandy path which will lead you to Mama Flo's bar & restaurant, set on the beach and owned by the family. The food is good there and the beer is cold.
If you are happy with laid back beachy accommodations and aren't expecting top quality American amenities, then the price and the people will win you over.
