Arrived late (10PM). The hotel is next to a military center. You speak to someone behind a glasswindow like in a prison with at least 12 stickers stating that he used to be a sheriff or something like that. The room was clean but smelled badly like insecticide and the bathtub was the kind of acrylic whole installation, although quite clean. THe microwave was badly functionning and the climatisation was too loud to sleep there. Breakfast was coffee, milk and juice (have a look in the fridge) and...surprise...yummy yummy doughnuts...that was the good part of it.
It was near a military base. The motel was located in a dead end road area. Very quiet while we were there in the evening. I would go back next year and the price was great.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The place was overall pleasant. For a budget motel I found it to be all it needed to be-except for the bed. The mattress was very firm and uncomfortable. The husband and wife (owners?) were very sweet.
The room was surprisingly clean and nice. Only reason I gave it a 4 was because there was some guys hanging around the property and I had to let the front desk know that wasnât acceptable, but the staff removed them and it was a peaceful night. Out Tv didnât work, staff came and fixed it.
The first room assigned to us was full of dead roaches and had no linens. The 2nd room, the beds were extremely hard and impossible to sleep in for both of us. They were like sleeping on plywood boards. The man who checked us in was very friendly and pleasant to talk with.
While it is true the decor is dated and the rooms are older, we stayed for close proximity to the air show at the base and they were so accommodating in hospitable. It was quiet and no one bothered us. Everything worked well.
Furniture old and worn, lines were dirty. Beds were very hard and pillows completely flat like an hospital pillow but worse. Upstairs tenants were loud all night and you could hear them walking around. Coffee packet was wet and disgusting. Microwave was old worn and beat up from 20 years ago. In an emergency this place would work but thank goodness we only had to stay one night.
Check in was nice and kind, and the room was very clean. It was clean and quiet. It was a bit slow so didnt have many guests, so I didnt like that as a mom traveling with a young daughter (8) it felt isolated, but it was cheap and next to the air force base entrance for a last minute. It had a smell like it was sprayed before I got there, a bit chemically. If it wasnt so empty i would have felt more comfortable, but thats for me and having a young daughter in a crazy world that puts me on high alert.
I have stayed at Belmont Inn and Suites several times when visiting Hampton, Virginia. The area is very quiet and I always get a good nights rest. The rooms are clean and tidy. The shower is hot with good water pressure. The front desk staff has always been helpful and kind.
