If you’re thinking about staying at The Grove Resort in Winter Garden, FL — don’t. I wish someone had warned me before we booked.
From the start, the experience was awful. All the drains — in every sink and bathtub — were completely clogged. I told the front desk about it and made it very clear that I did not want anyone entering our room while we were gone at the parks. Guess what? They came in anyway. Apparently, they “unclogged the toilets” (which were never clogged), but somehow the kitchen sink was still backed up. Their solution? “Just don’t turn the water on all the way.” Seriously?
Then there were the stained sheets on my bed, only one towel per room, and a disgusting washer and dryer that actually trapped our clothes inside. It took four hours for maintenance to show up and unlock it.
As if that wasn’t enough, there were two arrests on property on two different days — police cars everywhere when we came back from Disney. Definitely not the relaxing family resort vibe they advertise.
The shuttle service is another joke. They tell you one thing, then do another. One night, the shuttle left us at the park, and after that we had to Uber every day because it was so unreliable.
Even navigating the resort was a headache — the layout is incredibly confusing. We got lost trying to find our room multiple times, and the elevators are barely marked.
