We had the tiny split level room. I wouldn't stay in this room again because the bed was only accessible on one side and it was elevated by a few stairs that we had to negotiate before we had to go down a whole flight of stairs to the bathroom (especially in the dark at night). Zero closet or storage space. Staff was excellent and loved the completely new (as of May 2025) interior design of room but the lack of space and split level is a no from us especially at the price we paid. There are far better options in this hotel and elsewhere in town.
This was a very nice historic hotel in a great location near Chateau Frontenac, however there were a few shortcomings as others have mentioned. We reserved the deluxe suite. I was aware that there was no elevator and thought we were on the third floor, forgetting that "European" floors start at zero. So we were actually on the fourth floor, which was 52 steps from the lobby. And we had a loft bedroom in addition to the regular bedroom, which was another 12 steps up for a total of 64. Slightly challenging for two women and a decent amount of luggage. The unit was nice with the original stone walls, however the loft ceiling height was only about 5' 3" so I was not able to fully stand up in there. That should have been mentioned on the listing. Getting up in the middle of the night was a challenge trying not to hit my head on the ceiling! The bathroom was very modern, however water pressure was very bad - slightly more than a trickle. That made showering a challenge. And the bathroom lighting over the mirror was poor making it nearly impossible to see to put on make up. Another bizarre thing was that there was an armoire to hang clothes, but the bar height was probably about 6 1/2 ft so a short person would not have been able to reach. There was also no place to put clothing in the bedroom or loft so I basically lived out of my suitcase. I do want to mention that Paula at the front desk was extremely nice and helped us plan several activities.
Looked exactly like the pictures! Great design, pretty bathroom, and all the toiletries smelled better than walking into an Aesop. Was a beautiful building in an excellent locationâclose enough to all the sights and gorgeous parks but on a quiet street with not too much foot traffic. Loved that the windows opened to let in the sea air (big bonus for me as someone who does not like being stuck in hotels with constant A/C blasting). The bed was very comfortable. Paule was really lovely and had so much local knowledge. I highly recommend staying here and will come again. Check in was great and even though there is no elevator, there will be someone on hand to help you with your luggage if you plan your arrival within the staffed hours.
The hotel was beautiful. The rooms are so gorgeously appointed. We stayed in room six and it had the perfect view of the chateau and the river. And Paule at the front desk/reception/hostess was wonderful. So knowledgeable about the city on where to go and where to eat, she made our stay in Quebec even nicer. I had mentioned that it was my partnerâs birthday and she surprised us with a card and some chocolates! Thank you Paule for making our trip to Quebec even more memorable
A very nice boutique hotel in a great location in the old city. The woman running the hotel is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are new and comfortable.
Great location, easy walk to Chateau and old Quebec City shops and restaurants. No elevator which would be a problem for older guests. Poor lighting in the washroom and terrible water pressure in the shower. Room was beautiful with the exposed stone walls.
This charming boutique hotel just opened a few months ago. The location is perfect, quiet but just 3 short blocks from the Chateau, Shopping, dining and the river. The decor is exquisite and we had a few suggestions for the very helpful reception. Because the bathroom is mostly black with dim lighting, they need to have a small makeup mirror to apply makeup. Our room was on the third floor, and no elevator so keep that in mind. Parking is a block offsite but not every hotel around there even offers parking. Wonderful stay!
Brand new property. We stayed in #3. Well appointed and stylish but the designer missed terribly in my opinion. No outlets on nightstands for phones. Used plugs away from bed on floor. Shower was a dribble. No pressure. All design without function. To open the windows, it was hot and stuffy, we had to crawl over an oversized desk to open windows.
