"We arrived late (11 pm) on Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised with how well managed the property is in all respects. They have a lock box system for late night arrivals or for people who prefer a contactless check in. I requested a room with a view which was accommodated and the room we had was at the smallest and highest of the motel style buildings over looking the harbor and sound. The 5 or so buildings are set on a slope below the road and offer a classic looking roadtrip stop. The room was spotless and looked recently renovated with vinyl plank flooring, fresh paint and bathroom. Next morning the view was lovely and the garden grounds around the office are well trimmed and cared for. There was some road noise in the morning when large trucks passed but not at night and this did not detract for us. Simple breakfast and coffee is provided in a room opposite the office. Ladies working up front were cordial and offered suggestions for sights nearby including the tulip fields on the way back to the interstate- a local product and basis for the upcoming Tulip Festival. The location is ideal for exploring the Ana Cortes area and as a jumping off point for the San Juan Islands with the ferry just down the little road from the inn. We could definitely see coming back to the area and would choose this place as our base. You never know what you might get at a motel/hotel especially an independent one which we prefer. This place was as good or better than advertised!!"
