I’m a fan of expresso martinis, my experience outside during breakfast hours were always a little awkward when approaching the area to sit. On both days, something was not available on the menu . And my expresso martinis were my least favorite I’ve ever tasted anywhere . As in your bartenders drink we’re not the best in my opinion.
Everything else from the experience of breakfast , lunch and dinner on a weekend was great ambience. Beautiful interiors and so much to do. Loved staying here, my suite was perfect and looking forward to staying here again.
It was beautiful and fun. My sister and I stayed for one night on the weekend. I didn't know that it was such a happening location, so much so that there would be a line of people waiting to get in for the bar, back patio, and concert in Lou Lous. That being said, I didn't have to wait to get inside. Our showerhead could have used a bit of tightening, but I think that heavy pouring water was supposed to be how it operates. 10/10 would return and recommend.
Lovely hotel with kind employees. The food and drinks are amazing. You really don’t need to leave the hotel for anything. The only downside is the street parking which can be difficult in the evenings. They have valet but I’d rather not spend my money on that.
Reviewing colleges with my daughter and the stay at the hotel was fun and the staff went above and beyond to meet all our needs. Such a fun place to stay I can’t say enough about the experience at the La Fayette!
Beautiful historic hotel brought back to life with modern amenities. Exceptional options on site for dinning and nightlife. Fun experience. Wish we could have stayed longer
45 years ago, on the occasion of our 5th anniversary, we stayed at a hotel in Palm Spings trumpeted as classic Hollywood Stars’ luxury complete with autographed publicity photos endorsing the place. We could see the former luxury but it was seedy smelly and disgusting, a dump of its former glory.
Not so, the beautifully restored and carefully maintained Lafayette in San Diego. It feels like a step back in time and is superbly crafted with personal service to match. It was a pleasure to sit on the patio or diner and enjoy a good selection of everyday classics. The Quixote restaurant serves among the best Mexican food and certainly the best Oaxacan tapas we’ve ever enjoyed. Thank you to the fine chefs and servers who contributed to our singular experience
My only complaint is the overwhelming and cloying architectural perfume sprayed everywhere it seems, and daily.
