Very close to large, modern NCP car park and rail station (10 mins journey to Piccadilly). Hotel was immaculate throughout, rooms bright and spacious. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and professional. Great experience and will definitely be back!

Very Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for 5 nights and was thoroughly disappointed. Although I was told I had been given a slightly bigger room, it turned out to be a disabled-access room with a walk-in shower, which was inconvenient and not what I expected. The room was small, with no wardrobe, no conditioner and felt very basic for the price I paid. Shockingly, the room was never cleaned during my entire stay. When I asked the reception, they told me that at “Express” hotels, you need to specifically request housekeeping. I find this unacceptable – regardless of the brand, you would expect at least basic room cleaning and bathroom mopping daily. The bathroom floor was never touched, and the sheets had stains that were ignored by housekeeping. Breakfast was extremely limited and low quality – definitely not worth the rate they charge per night. I even had my hotel card removed from the room, which I was using to keep the air conditioning on, and had to go back to reception to request a new one. The overall experience was just unpleasant. Staff were not particularly friendly or helpful – they kept repeating “it’s an Express” as a reason for everything lacking. I honestly wish I had known all this beforehand. For the price I paid, I expected much more. I will never be staying at this hotel again.

Great Stay Overall, but Parking Info Was Misleadin

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Stockport. Overall, the room was very nice — it felt new, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the corridor when I first arrived, but thankfully it was quiet throughout the night, so I slept well. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. One thing to be aware of: when I booked through Hotels.com, I filtered for hotels with parking, but this hotel doesn't actually have its own parking. Instead, there's an NCP car park nearby which cost £14.95 for 24 hours (if you pre-book), so that's something to factor into the total price. Otherwise, it was a good stay and I'd be happy to return, keeping the parking situation in mind next time.

The hotel is great, but the “hotel.com” isn’t.

The stay was very good, but the information on the “hotel.com” was not true. On the app said the hotel had a parking available, that is not true and I have to pay for parking.
